My Room

When Jess turns to head to the clinic, Moon sits up, suddenly startling Colin and causing Farrell to growl a little. He never wants to let her go again, let alone have her jump up the way she just did, making him worry even more about her. She still feels a little cold, but it’s nothing compared to what she was only moments ago.

“I don’t want to go to the clinic. Can’t I just go back to my room at the packhouse? Or is that not my room anymore?” Moon asks, looking at Colin with a slightly scared expression. Moon knows they are mates, but the thought of living with him suddenly sinks in. Her wolf is chanting over and over in Moon’s head that she would love nothing more than to be curled up with him.

Moon is not quite as sure as her wolf. She still hasn’t told Colin the fragments of dreams she can remember, and Moon wants a little time to come to terms with what she just learned. She fiddles with the gold moon necklaces around her neck. She hasn’t taken it off since Alpha Mark gave it to her.

“Why don’t you want to go to the clinic?” Colin questions seriously.

“I just don’t want to go to the clinic right now. I don’t really like doctors much. I mean, Doc Lewis is okay.” Moon shrugs, unsure how to describe her anxiety. She wants to sit in her room and see if she can connect with her wolf more. She has tried to talk to her, but the wolf seems to be ignoring her or unable to hear Moon. She wants to find out what Colin meant, that her Gramps may have suppressed her wolf. She wants to call Ben and find out what he knows. Moon does not want to go to the clinic and get her blood drawn, have her eyes checked, or do anything else Doc might think of.

“I really feel fine.” Moon pleads, pouting just a little.

“Fine, but Doc comes to the pack house.” Colin’s face is hard and uncompromising as he clenches his jaw. Moon is sure he will not cave on this.

“Fine. Now… My room?” Moon says slowly, feeling her cheeks go pink and Colin nearly smiles just seeing her blush.

“No, you will not be going back to the room you stayed in last time you were here.” Colin watches her face turn a little redder, and her eyes widen. Colin is enjoying teasing Moon. “You will have your own room on the top floor,” he smirks, knowing what she must have thought.

Moon feels better, but she is also aware that it is the Alpha floor and where Colin’s room will be as well. Moon’s wolf huffs clearly, not happy with the sleeping arrangements. Why won’t you talk to me? You can hear everything that is happening. Why won’t you talk to me? Moon is irritated now as she tries yelling in her mind at the stubborn wolf.

You haven’t really asked me anything worth answering, and I don’t think I’m going to get to stay here much longer before I’m locked away again. I want to enjoy being here now, not worrying. The wolf huffs at Moon, but she sounds sad.

Why do you think that? I don’t know what is happening or how to fix it. I don’t even know your name or why you hate me. Moon is close to crying, and she knows she must be tense. She just hopes Colin doesn’t ask her why.

I don’t hate you; I never could. I am just angry at being locked away. It isn’t fair. I don’t know why I was locked up. I didn’t do anything to hurt you or anyone else. I’m Kiara. I hope you can find out what is separating me from you. Every time I make it back to you, it is like something pulls me away again and locks me up. I can feel it pulling even now, and I don’t know how long I will be able to fight it off. I just want to enjoy being here now, and with him, I do like him. Kiara sounds sad, and Moon can feel her slipping away again ever so slightly, and she is trying to hold on to her.

Jess turns the car and drives toward the packhouse when Colin links her and tells her that Doc agreed to make the house call. He thought seeing her somewhere she was more comfortable might be better.

Jess smirks at him in the mirror; it’s obvious to Jess that Colin will have a hard time not letting Moon have her way with almost everything. It’s comical to Jess to see Colin like this. He has been a great leader, but he has always been closed off and hard to read. With Moon around, Jess is starting to see a different Colin. This Colin smiles for one and says things like please, and Jess can tell he is Completely lost to Moon. Moon seems utterly unaware of the power she wealds.

As they drive, Moon is still thinking about her Gramps and her short conversation with her wolf Kiara. She has gone quiet again, and Moon wonders what he could have done to her and her wolf. Moon is sure he couldn’t have really done anything like suppressing her wolf. He loved her. Why would he want to do something like that?

Moon is sitting apart from Colin, and he can’t stand it, but he also doesn’t want to push her. He would rather hold her and never let her go, but she would probably protest. Colin can see her face and the storm of emotions raging in her eyes. Colin can’t find the words to ask her to talk to him; he has always been bad with words. He just wants her to know that he is here for her.

Her hair is swept over her shoulder as she sits lost in her thoughts and emotions, and Colin runs his fingers under the strap of her tank top, making goosebumps spread over her skin. She shivers a little but leans just a bit more into his touch. Moon finds comfort in his touch and him being near her. She nearly finds herself moaning when she closes her eyes, leaning closer to him. How can one caress have so much power over her?

Colin is frozen for a moment when she closes her eyes and leans into his touch. He has to stop himself from leaning in to kiss her neck. Farrell, on the other hand, is all in favor of kissing her neck and every inch of her. Farrell wants nothing more than to worship every part of her. The tingling and electricity he feels just touching her skin makes him crazy. Colin reasons with Farrell that it’s better to take things slowly. Moon has been through a lot, and they need to figure out what Mark did to her wolf, if he did anything at all.

His hand has slipped further under the strap and back of her shirt. The back of his fingers running just under her shoulder blades. Incredible goosebumps spread across her back, and he still wants to kiss her neck. Colin is becoming increasingly uncomfortable sitting there, but he isn’t about to move and adjust.

The SUV stops in front of the packhouse, and Colin isn’t sure if he is angry or relieved. Jess chuckles as she opens the door and hops out without glancing back at the overly smitten alpha. He’s lost, and from what Jess can see, Moon is just as lost as Colin. Jess doesn’t think separate rooms will last the pair more than an hour, let alone the night. Not that she can blame them. The mate bond is far too strong for anyone to fight for very long. Your wolf craves its other half.

They want nothing more than to be whole. It’s like finding the other half of your soul; once you find it, it’s hard to resist that. Jess only hopes to find her other half someday and feel what Colin and Moon are feeling. Something more vital than lust or even love, something so substantial you would die just to be with that person in a moment if you had to. It’s a beautiful thought Jess has always longed for but still hasn’t found.
