Skyler munched on his sandwich, speaking through a mouthful of food with an unclear voice, "Tanya likes to take me to Verdecalma, but it's boring. Every time we're on the road, I just fall asleep. When I wake up, we're at this weird place. I don't like strange places; I want to go home. Then she gets mad at me."

He hung his head, a sad frown etching his young face.

Aurelia strongly suspected that this place was the hideout of the AK Group, a name that sent shivers down her spine. She figured Tanya was worried about Skyler remembering the route, so she must have drugged him to keep him unconscious.

"Skyler, can you tell me anything about these strange places?" Aurelia asked gently.

Skyler shook his head, "I can't remember much. I get sleepy going there and coming back, and my head's always so foggy.”

Aurelia bit her lip, pondering the effects of the drugs.

Tanya would even drug her son. It was so monstrous.

Aurelia thought Geoffrey was Skyler's unknown twin.

Tanya had him well hidden, so no one else had put the pieces together.

Geoffrey must be brilliant, Aurelia thought. Only a genius could engineer such terrifying bio- weapons.

After finishing their sandwiches, they headed to the ancient fossil beds.

The ground was littered with the remains of prehistoric ferns and conifers, relics from a world two hundred million years past.

"Angel? Skyler asked with childlike innocence after a pause, “when my flower died, I buried it. Will it become a fossil?"

Aurelia chuckled softly, "Fossilization is a tough process. Whether it's a person, an animal, or a plant, as long as it had a splendid life, what happens after death doesn't matter”

"Do plants go to heaven when they die, like people?” Skyler queried, his curiosity piqued.

"Sure, Aurelia smiled, “all living beings have a chance at heaven, but only if they've been good. The bad ones will go to hell. And hell, it's a dreadful place, no sunshine, just endless torment.’

Skyler shivered, “I'm a good kid, and I'll go to heaven for sure. But I'm worried about Geoffrey. He's been raising all those bad bugs, and they bite people. Could he go to hell?"

"Yes," Aurelia said with a firmness that was tinged with the bitterness of her grudges, “The devil's got his eye on hirn, and if he doesn't turn over a new leaf, hell awaits with all its punishments.” Skyler sighed deeply, "I've tried to tell Geoffrey to stop raising those mean bugs, but he wouldn't listen, and he was mean to me. It seems he's beyond saving."

And so was Tanya, Aurelia thought grimly.

Just then, a tall figure emerged in the distance, causing Aurelia to rub her eyes in disbelief.

Leopold approached them rapidly. He had been receiving updates on her whereabouts from Yuna, and upon learning she was at the botanical garden with Skyler, he'd hurried over.

Skyler waved, “Leopold, what brings you here? You here to see the flowers?"

Leopold shrugged, his reason for being there was far less botanical.

Introducing Aurelia to him, Skyler said, "Leopold, this is my angel. Isn't she pretty?"

“Quite pretty” Leopold replied with a half-smirk.

Aurelia gave him a sidelong glance, "Skyler, Leopold and I are acquainted. He's my boss. I had no idea he was your cousin.”

"Yep, that's why he's as handsome as me’ Skyler stated, utterly serious.

Aurelia couldn't help but laugh at his self-compliment. Indeed, they both were handsome.
