Chapter 552

One morning, Skyler called up Aurelia, buzzing with the idea of spending the day out and about. Given his love for flowers, Aurelia decided to take him to the botanical gardens.

Skyler was overjoyed, “Angel, you're just awesome, agreeing to hang out with me. Dad's always so swamped, never has time to take me places.”

Aurelia chuckled, “Anytime you wanna have some fun, just let me know. I'll show you every nook and cranny of Elysium.”

"Deal." Skyler clapped his hands in delight.

Stepping out of the car, he darted towards the gardens like a lively sparrow, instantly becoming the center of attention. Skyler, tall and dashing yet with an air of childlike innocence, shrank back when he felt the stares, seeking refuge behind Aurelia.

Knowing his nerves could be calmed with a lollipop, Aurelia fished one out and handed it to him, "Don't fret, Skyler. Keep your eyes on me and pretend no one else is around. Just do your thing." "Okay." He nodded, unwrapping the candy and popping it into his mouth.

Spring had the flowers in a riot of color, with wildflowers dotting the path.

Skyler, curious about their names, scanned them with his smartwatch.

"Angel, this one's called devil's needle. What a quirky name."

“A lot of wildflowers and herbs are medicinal. Devil's needle is goad for blood circulation and regulating blood pressure,’ Aurelia explained with a smile.

"Geoffrey also grows lots of herbs and uses them to feed bugs.”

Skyler's offhand remark piqued Aurelia’s interest considerably.

She was now nearly certain that Geoffrey was the kingpin of AK Group, the one cultivating those toxins and bacteria.

"Skyler, did you know I have a special talent? I can sketch anything you describe.”

"Wow, Angel, that's so cool.” Skyler gasped in awe.

Aurelia's eyes twinkled with mischief, “Wanna give it a shot?"

"Yes!" He nodded eagerly.

"Well then, describe Geoffrey's place where he grows his herbs and breeds his insects, and I'll draw it for you later.

Scratching his head, Skyler began to describe in a slow but vivid manner, “The place is huge, even bigger than our garden.”

As he spoke, Aurelia discreetly recorded every word with her voice recorder.

She realized that although Skyler seemed mentally childlike, his intelligence was not low, and he had an excellent memory and strong logical thinking.

Sometimes, those who appear simple might just be hidden geniuses.

Once he finished, Aurelia beamed, “Got it all recorded. I'll sketch it for you over lunch.”

They headed to the Orchid Oasis Garden, where a spectacular array of orchids blossomed.

"Angel, these are Orchid's relatives.” Skyler was thrilled. “Wow, there's Dendrobium, Phalaenopsis, Paphiopedilum, Cymbidium, and even Deciduous Orchids..."

He seemed to recognize almost every species.

Aurelia gave him a thumbs-up. "Skyler, you're amazing.”

Proudly, he raised an eyebrow, "I know all of Orchid and Rose's relatives.”

After touring the Orchid Oasis Garden, they settled at a stone table to rest. Aurelia pulled out some wet wipes to clean his hands, then unpacked juice, pastries, and fruit from her backpack.

“You must be starving, so try the sandwiches I made.”

Opening her lunchbox, she handed him a sandwich.

Taking a bite, he exclaimed, "Delicious! Bacon, smoked chicken, and even pickles, all my favorites.” Aurelia grabbed a sandwich too, munching along with him.

"Skyler, I heard your aunt Tanya takes you out a lot. Ever been abroad with her?"
