Chapter 524

Leopold stretched out his muscular arm, pulling her slender waist into his embrace, “Are you suggesting I should be celibate?”

"Cut it out,” Aurelia snorted, "God knows how many women you've been with, and how many seeds you've sown.

You're far frorn pure.”

She muttered under her breath, but Leopold heard every word clearly.

He was the epitome of a wronged man.

"Can't you show me a little faith?"

"Why should I have faith in an ex-husband who abandoned me? I'm not a fool.”

The air between them was thick with resentment that refused to dissipate.

Leopold sighed helplessly. Some topics were like thorns lodged deep in his heart, causing a dull ache whenever touched.

"I never abandoned you."

“That's right, and you just want to marry Megan while keeping a connection with me, your ex-wife. If you could really let me go and cut ties with me, I'd be thankful. That way, I wouldn't have to wrestle with my moral compass, worrying about becoming your friend with benefits.”

Her words exploded like a firecracker in his ears, adding to his frustration. In response, he forcefully silenced her with a kiss.

Aurelia was annoyed and landed a punch on his shoulder.

Why did he always have to dominate her? He was no longer her rightful partner.

She wished he would stop taking her for granted.

After work, Aurelia made a stop at the supermarket.

As she left, her eyes caught sight of a peculiar man on the pedestrian walkway.

He was tall and handsome, but his actions were unusual. His mouth was busy with a lollipop, and in his hand, he held a pot of Orchid, looking around curiously as he walked.

His mannerism was reminiscent of Forrest Gump from the iconic movie.

Just then, an electric scooter whizzed by, its handle hitting his arm. He lost his grip and the pot fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.

The scooter rider, instead of stopping, sped off even faster, leaving the scene of the accident. "Orchid is broken!" The man was frightened, he knelt down, picking up the flower, trying to scoop up the soil, but it slipped through his fingers.

He was distraught and at a loss.

"Orchid is dying, what do I do? Daddy, help." The man was so upset he started crying.

Aurelia realized that the man might have some cognitive issues.

No one stopped to help him, instead, they hurried past, anxious to avoid him.

Aurelia instinctively wanted to help, but Yuna grabbed her arm. "Be careful.”

“It's okay,” Aurelia was always ready to lend a hand when someone was in trouble, without considering the danger of being scammed.

She walked over to the man, pulling out a plastic bag, "Don't worry, and Orchid will be okay. Let me help you:"

She put the flower in the plastic bag and scooped the soil into it as well.

"There's a flower shop up ahead. I'll take you there to buy a new pot, okay?"

The man nodded, looking at her with tearful eyes, "Are you an angel?”

Aurelia smiled, "No, I'm not an angel.”

“You are an angel, a beautiful angel!” He insisted, convinced that she was the angel sent by God to save Orchid

Aurelia took him to the flower shop, bought a new pot, and had the shopkeeper transplant the Orchid into it.

"Orchid is okay now, and it even has a new home. It must be very happy.

“Thank you, Angel.” The man clapped his hands in joy, then took out a lollipop from his pocket. “Angel, have a lollipop.”

“It's okay.” Aurelia smiled slightly, “What's your name?”

"My name is Skyler, Skyler Heninger!" the man said.
