Chapter 1376

Ashlyn sighed a breath of relief. “Oh. I will try my best to get home before you do, then.”

“Sure.”

After hanging up, Ashlynn returned to the house while Corentin tightened his grip around his phone as though it was Ashlynn’s neck.

Not only had she gone to the Hilton's frequently, but she had also started lying to him about it.

Is that how she’s supposed to treat me? Is that how she’s supposed to treat Beth, who killed our son? He thought angrily

Ashlynn sat down on the couch, and Beth asked, “Something important came up?”

She shook her head. “No.”

They heard a car approaching, followed by Jeremy's entrance into the house. “You are all here?” He sat down next to Ashlynn. “Stay here tonight!”

Ashlynn’s room was just as luxurious as Jeremy's, but she had not stayed the night there after being threatened by Corentin

“Maybe next time..."

"You say that a lot,” Jeremy said.

Ashlynn felt uncomfortable because she did say that a lot.

“It's not like you stay home every night,” Marshall said to Jeremy.

“He probably thinks of this house as a hotel,” Beth added.

“You two only have Ashlynn in your eyes and wouldn't know if I stayed at home every day,” Jeremy retorted.

“Boo-hoo.” Marshall chuckled.

Beth smiled as she looked at Ashlynn..

Aunt Cher looked at the four from a distance and felt extremely upset that Ashlynn had replaced Meredith.

Meredith was as high as the stars in the sky, and Ashlynn was merely a sewer rat compared to her, yet Ashlynn could not take the hint and would visit the Hiltons every two to three days.

Another car stopped outside the mansion. Not having to check, Aunt Cher knew who had come and said to Beth cheerfully, “Mrs. Hilton, Ms. Meredith is here.”

Indeed, Meredith walked into the living room shortly after.

“Uncle, Aunty.” She waltzed in, and her expression instantly darkened when she saw Ashlynn. “Why are you here?”

"Why can't she be here? Have you forgotten that my mom adopted her? Ashlynn is your equal now,” Jeremy retorted.

“That's right, Meredith. We are all a family now, so treat Ashlynn with kindness,” Marshall added. Meredith felt that she was already being civil for not chasing Ashlynn out.

I see what's happening Ashlynn is trying to replace me. How dare she? she thought.

"Aunty, when is dinner starting? I'm starving.” Meredith took Beth's arm and pouted.

Beth chuckled and said to Aunt Cher, “Let's start dinner, then!”

“Right away!” Aunt Cher hurried to the kitchen cheerfully.

"Come Let's go to eat,” Beth said gently to Ashlynn.

Ashlynn got up, and Meredith shot her a look of contempt, silently telling her to leave.

Jeremy threw one arm around Ashlynn’s shoulder and led her forward. “Why are you standing still? Sit next to me later.”

All the dishes had already been served, and Aunt Cher immediately said to Meredith, “These are all your favorite dishes. Enjoy.”

Beth glanced at Aunt Cher darkly.

Jeremy had always spoken his mind and blurted out, saying, “I can't see any of Meredith's favorite dishes, though? These are all Ashlynn’s favorite dishes since no one even expected Meredith to be here. Aunt Cher, you've been working here long enough, so can't you tell what you should say from what you shouldn't?”

Yes.” Aunt Cher walked over to the side.

Sensing that she was being neglected, Meredith's expression darkened. “Jeremy, do you hate me so much? Aunt Cher isn't just an ordinary maid. Show some respect.”

“She is still a maid and is bound by the same rules.”

“Why you..."
