Jerica’s POV

It’s been a week since Joseph was born. He is such a joy to the family. The pack is in the meeting hall now and I have little Joseph in my arms. I’m bouncing him and rocking back and forth while I talk to Blair. When Reo calls the meeting to order I give him to Blair and go to the stage with Reo. We’re going over the precautions today. Reo has been working extra hard changing things around to make it safer and prepare us for possible attack. Reo tells everyone of their jobs. The young with their mothers and the elderly are to go to the safe house where there is an underground bunker set up. Tammy and Blair will be in charge of them. He gets the warriors separated and gives them each leaders to go over their jobs. Everyone is to be on high alert at all times. If they see anything suspicious they are to link Reo, Kevin, Joe and/or I right away. Once everyone is set and know what they are to do we end the meeting. As we walk off the stage Winnie runs over to me and excitedly tells me that her wolf came out last night. She’s a dark brown wolf with baby blue eyes named Carley. I’m so happy for her. I tell her to keep her gems close to make sure her anxiety stays low with everything going on. She’s too young to have to deal with this crap. She thanks me again and goes off with her friends. Reo and I head off to double check things and get all guards to their areas. We have some for here and some for the city. The other packs in our area have guards for the city as well.

It was a long day of making sure everyone and everything was in order. Reo and I are sitting down to have dinner. I made Italian caramelized chicken, green beans, corn on the cob, bbq bread and peach cobbler for dessert. I just took my first bite of chicken, it’s so delicious, but it was quickly ruined. Reo was linked that vampires were attacking the city. He looks at me and we immediately jump up. He links everyone to get to their posts and positions. I link Tammy and Blair to get to the underground bunker and be safe. Reo and our fighters change into their wolves because they can get to the city faster. Tabitha and I climb on Reo and Zane’s backs and we’re all off. Witches can communicate telepathically with their elder witch, so I let Agatha know so she and the other witches of our Coven can come to help.

When we arrived at the city, we saw everyone had gone on lockdown. Unfortunately, the vampires got to some of our citizens. I had to stop myself from crying. My people need their Luna to be strong right now. Seeing all of this death though, and all because of some evil blood suckers. It was all I could do not to break down. I won’t though, I won’t let these leeches win. The wolves started taking down and leading vampires and demonic witches away from the city and closer to an opening between the city and our woods. I make the earth move, pushing them toward the opening.

When we finally have them where we want want them, the fight truly begins. There is blood and vampire heads everywhere. The only way to truly kill a vampire is to behead them then we burn them as well. We also burn the demonic witches.

I’m physically fighting as well as using my magic. If I’m not careful, I’ll use all my energy and be down for the count. We can’t have that. A vampire runs at me and I blast him with my power then quickly grab his head and body and pull in two different directions. With all my strength and power I rip his head clean off. I’m covered in blood but I don’t care. I’ll deal with anything to get rid of these monsters. I summon my fire power and set that son of a bitch a flame. No need to wait till the end when I can burn them now. Before I fully have the fire out I get hit with demonic magic. It knocks me on my ass but I’m up and hitting her back within seconds. She’s about to shoot out another hit so I put up a barrier and block it. The second it hits I take down my barrier and bend the earth around her and crush her with it. After her screams stop, I set fire to the ground she was under until she was nothing but ashes. I had no time to rest though, a vampire suddenly has me down on the ground, holding my arms down and leaning down to bite me. Before he has the chance he is knocked off me by Red. He takes almost all the vampire’s head in his mouth and rips it off. He looks at me and Reo links me asking if I’m ok. I tell him I’m fine then hop up and burn the fuckin prick to nothingness. Red gives me a wink then runs to attack the next vampire. Another witch comes at me and I take her down quickly.

We fight for what feels like days but was only a few hours. Some of the vampires and demonic witches escaped but we killed most. Once we settled down, all our wolves changed back and found the shirts and shorts we have hidden around. Some of the men got together the bodies and heads of the dead and piled them to be be burned, while the others got together our injured. We lost three wolves. As the Luna, I can feel the loss in my heart. It’s horrible. Again, I have to stay strong for my pack. Agatha and our coven help load our injured in the vehicles that they brought and take them to our clinic along with our wolves who passed. We’ll have a memorial for them soon. I go to the pile of bodies and heads of those despicable, good for nothing asses. Before anyone can even blink I set them all on fire. Reo steps up next to me and puts his arm around me and holds me tight. The adrenaline is starting to wear off and I’m feeling drained of my energy. I stand there anyway and watch till there is only ashes. After, I bend down and touch the ground and say a chant to bury all the ashes through out the grounds and to get the grass to grow back. When I’m finished you would never know that there was a battle here. Once I stand though, I feel all my power leave me and I pass out.

Total darkness, a quiet void, numbness. Nothing.
