Reo’s POV

We just had a huge battle with the vampires and demonic witches. It was brutal. We lost a lot of humans and three of our wolves. The war is imminent. Jerica has just made everything whole again when she passes out. I catch her in my arms and yell for Tabitha. I feel her pulse and check her breathing. All seems normal. Red is howling, upset about our mate. I feel a bang in my heart. What happened? Did she use too much power? Agatha did say they have a limit but with how powerful Jerica is I guess I figured she didn’t have much of a limit. Tabitha runs over to me and looks over Jerica.

“She used every ounce of her energy and power tonight. She needs rest. I couldn’t tell you how long she’ll be out though. It could be a few hours or a few days,” she tells me.

A few DAYS?! Goddess. I pick her up bridal style and take her to one of the vehicles our coven brought. Tabitha gets in the passenger seat and one of witches, Dorthy, drives us to the pack house. I bring Jerica upstairs and get her and I cleaned up and dressed in fresh pjs. I call for the pack doc to check on Jerica to make sure she doesn’t have any injuries. Thank goddess, she doesn’t. After he leaves I lay down next to her in bed and hold her tight.

“Wake up soon, Darlin. I need to know you’re ok.”

I should have made her go to the safe house. I don’t care if her power can help us. Her safety is more important to me.

I fall into a fitful sleep. Worried about my mate and what’s going to happen. Just wishing that Jerica would wake up. But, I did finally fall asleep, holding my mate close.
