Date Night

Jerica’s POV

After breakfast, Reo kisses my forehead and tells me bye. I get dressed and meet Pam downstairs to explore the pack. It’s absolutely beautiful. The forest surrounding the pack is lush and green with all kinds of wildlife. Birds are singing and I see plenty of rabbits, chipmunks and squirrels scurrying around. The center area is a very small town so the wolves don’t have to drive to the city for everything. Pam and I go into the dress store. We’re excitingly talking about my date tonight. Reo is so thoughtful. To make time for me so I can get to know him. But, Pam is saying a lot of things to make me blush though.

“We’re not going there yet. He’s letting me get comfortable. Taking it slow.”

“Yeah, but as a wolf, I can tell you that his instincts are to mate you. He’s a saint to wait this long. The minute I saw Lance I wanted to jump him. Oh, that night was fun. When he …”

I cover my ears,”lalalalala! TMI Pam. T. M. I!”

“Sorry. Did I hurt your innocent ears?” She winks at me. Now that we’re gone from Shadow Pack we’re getting to be more open and free. It’s the best feeling ever. I’m coming out of my shell more. Learning to love myself and see that people like me. I’m not a lowly nothing human here. Even if I didn’t find out about being a witch, the wolves here care about humans. And if you took away the fact I’m going to be their luna, I would still be treated right. This is how a pack is supposed to be. Everyone is so kind. I’ve met so many wolves already today. They already know who I am. Word travels fast in a pack.

Pam and I go to one of the racks and Pam pulls out the most gorgeous dress I’ve ever seen. It’s red, slim, short with a small triangle slit at the left leg, low square neckline, and long sleeves that flare at the wrist.

“You have to try this on,” Pam tells me.

“No. I couldn’t pull that off. No way.”

“Are you kidding? You’re slim, tall, gorgeous, legs for days, your skin and hair will go so well with the red, and your boobs are perky and perfect. In what world would you not be able to pull this off?”

Wow, I never thought of myself like that. To hear her say that, I don’t know what to think. So, I grab it and go try it on. My goddess! I look good. I mean, I don’t want to sound conceited but damn. I never thought I’d feel so good about myself. I step out of the dressing room and Pam’s jaw drops.

“Girrlll! You look so f-ing sexy. Get. That. Dress. Do it.”

“It’s not too much for tonight?” Ok, getting self conscious now.

“Um, no. It’s perfect. You better buy it. And I want all the details of Reo’s reaction to it.”

I smile at her. I can do this. I can be confident in myself. I do look awesome. And I know Reo will love it.

“Ok. Im getting it. Now for shoes.”

“And makeup.”

I look at her like a scared little doe. I have zero idea how to do makeup.

“I’m doing your makeup tonight so don’t give me that look. I got your back.”

Pam is the best. After we get everything we head back to the pack house for lunch. I put everything up in the apartment and head to the dinner hall. Pam and I eat with Blair and Val. I met Val, Caleb’s mate, today while looking around the pack. She’s so sweet. She has shoulder length strawberry blonde hair and green eyes. She’s petite and just adorable. We spend lunch talking about baby names with Blair. She’s getting so close to due day. It’s exciting. Last week I was alone and now I have a mate and a family. I’m going to be an aunt. I have more than one friend and I don’t have to hide myself. After lunch I go upstairs and start to get ready. I think it’s too early but Pam wants to give me a facial. She also wants me to shave and wax and pluck. Then she says hair and makeup will take longer than I think. I have no idea what I’m doing so I have to trust her.

Four and a half hours later I’m all done up. I can’t believe it took that long. Pam is going to come by tomorrow to teach me how to do a simple everyday makeup. Tonight though, I’m MADE UP. I am ready for a night on the town. She helps me get dressed and I put on my new black heels. Let’s hope I don’t fall on my face tonight. After Pam gives me her blessing that I’m perfect she leaves. Reo will be home in a few minutes. He said he’d use the men’s locker room to get ready so he can pick me up properly for our date. I’m so excited and very very nervous. Finally, I hear the door open. He walks in dressed in black slacks and a black button up collared shirt, not buttoned all the way, and with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Goddess, he’s so sexy. He stops and stares at me. His mouth hanging open. I think I even see a little drool. He has a bouquet of flowers in his hand. Yellow roses, my favorite.

“Darlin, you look absolutely stunning. I’m the luckiest man on earth.”

Reo’s POV

It’s finally time to get Jerica. It’s been torture not seeing her all day. I had meeting after meeting today. Some about the vampires some for our businesses. I’m ready to take her out. I get ready in the locker rooms then head to the apartment. I got her favorite flowers, yellow roses. I made sure to find out her favorite everything that first day. It’s all engraved in my mind. When I open the door I see her. She’s always beautiful, but wow. She really made herself up. That sexy dress, her hair and makeup. Red is wagging his tail and is drooling. Damn, I’m drooling some too. I have to wipe my mouth and close it. It’s gonna take all my willpower not to mate her tonight.

‘Owoooooo! Mmm. I want mate now.’

‘Hush, Red.’

“Darlin, you look absolutely stunning. I’m the luckiest man on earth.”

She’s blushing and looking down now. I walk over to her and lift her head with my finger under her chin. I kiss her forehead and give her her flowers. She thanks me and after she puts them in water we walk out. I take her to the diner on the pack land. Everyone is starring when we walk in. Jerica grabs my arm tightly and I pat her hand and lead her to a table.

“Everyone is starring,” She whispers.

“Baby, everyone in here is mind linking me how beautiful they think their new luna is. And how happy they are for me.”

I help her in her seat and sit across from her and I grab her hands. She gives me the most beautiful smile. Peggy, our resident grandmother to the pack and owner of the diner comes up to us.

“Well, I finally get to meet our new luna. Reo, you better have a good excuse for waiting until now.” She playfully scolds me.

“I know Grandma Peggy. I’m so sorry. I’ll never disrespect you like that again.”

She pats my cheek and smiles at me.

“Grandma?” Jerica ask.

“I’m not really his grandmother. I wasn’t able to have pups and basically adopted everyone in the pack. They all call me Grandma and I just added a new granddaughter to the mix.”

“Oh. It’s so nice to meet you Ms…”

“Aha.”

“…Grandma.”

“That’s a girl. Now, what would y’all like?”

“Chicken fried steak, fries and some okra please. And a sweet tea.” I say.

“That sounds delicious. I’ll have the same but with a Pepsi please.”

“You got it.”

After she walks away she links me.

‘She’s just gorgeous. I love her already.’

‘Thanks Grandma. I feel the same way.’

“Grandma loves you already.”

“She seems sweet. I like her. Since I can’t leave the pack for the time being for safety reasons, do you think she would let me come here and help her some days? I know I’m not a maid anymore but I do like to cook and it’s a good way to meet the pack. You know, just until I become luna and have to do those duties.”

I link Grandma and hear a resounding yes.

“She says she would love that. And I think it’s a great idea.” I tell her.

She’s glowing she’s so happy. We get our food and eat and talk. There are so many things she wants to do. She’s always liked drawing so I said I’d get her some supplies. I want her to do everything she’s always wanted to and more.

After we eat I take her to our movie theater. It’s not big, it only has two theaters inside. It only plays movies a few times a week but it works great for our pack when we don’t want to drive to the city. The movies playing tonight are Man of Steel and A Good Day to Die Hard. Jerica chooses Man of Steel. We go in and watch the movie. I keep my arm around her the whole time.

After the movie we walk to my favorite part of the pack grounds. It’s a lake that’s in the woods behind the pack house. When we get there I help her sit on the grass then I sit behind her and situate her between my legs and wrap my arms around her. She lays her head back on my chest.

“This is beautiful.”

“Not as beautiful as you.” I tell her.

We sit there for a while just talking when I hear her yawn. I stand and help her up.

“Thank you for tonight. It was perfect.”

I decide to take a chance. I lean down and kiss her. It’s soft and quick. I look at her and she smiles then gets on her tip toes and kisses me back. So I grab her and really kiss her. I bite her bottom lip slightly and she opens for me. It’s not long before our tongues are dancing with each other. After the kissing ends I look at her uniquely beautiful blue-aqua eyes.

“Best first kiss ever.” She whispers.

“That it was.” I say back.

With that I take her hand and lead her back to the house where we go up to our apartment. That night we snuggle up as usual but this time I get a good night kiss. Red is howling with happiness. It takes everything I have not to howl too. Jerica lays her head on my chest and I play with her hair as she falls asleep. I’m asleep right after her. I dare say, my life is perfect.
