But the Lycan king was in his beastly form, and could not listen to anyone at that moment, his eyes so red with sweat dripping down from his forehead. The room felt so intensely hot, that the fear that accompanied everyone’s heartbeat could be heard. 

He pulled Mother up, in his mighty nature, he was ready to devour her with his claws, but just then, I crawled over to him and grabbed his huge leg. Although I did not drink the coffee, I was experiencing the trauma from it, my chest and lungs choking and all I wanted was to get away from these people. 

“Your majesty…. Please… Please… Take me away from here!!” I cried while gasping for breath and that seemed like a switch that pulled him back to humanity. 

He immediately shoved Mother on the floor and, still in his Lycan form, he hauled me up so tenderly in his arms, slowly caressed my tender face, and scurried out of there with his Gamma following behind. 

“Mrs. Clara, what have you done, this is not going to end well for any of us!!” I could hear Alpha Noah yell at my mom, no doubt his voice was filled with panic and fear, but in those arms that held me, I felt safe. 

“Can’t you see that Mother is in bad shape, we need to get her to see the doctor, she did nothing wrong, perhaps it is just in the king’s nature to be a beast,” Ashley cried out while she grabbed onto Mother, who could barely breathe properly.

drove off. There was a profound silence in the air that even the sound of a riny pin would be heard so after driving for a while, Aiden finally broke the silence. 

“Your majesty, at first I was certain that getting married to her was a good idea, but after what happened today, I think that this is the only time you have ever made a good decision.” 

“Wait! Are you 

you saying that making her my Luna was a good choice? You do not think that I might murder her before the end of the night?” 

“No, she is like the switch you have always needed. No one has ever been able to stop you in your beastly form, but with just one word from her, you melted like ice” 

“Despite it all, I am scared, she means so much to me, and I am so afraid of what I might do to her. I think the best thing is that I stay away from her for the time being“. 

“Perhaps that is not a bad idea, we need to ascertain things and let her get used to the palace for the main time. This will get the council off your back for now“.

We finally arrived back at the palace where some of my trusted guarand friends were waiting. Al bright smile filled Caramel’s l*ps seeing me hauling the woman into my arms as she rested her head. on my chest. 

“Welcome back majesty, I never imagined that I would ever see the day you carried a woman like this in your arms. I have set up her room. It seems like she was exhausted from the entire ritual process and the trip back home” 

She explained, but I was silent and tried to walk past her, she stood right before me, the smile on her face had disappeared and was now replaced with a stern expression. 

“It is alright Your Majesty, I will take it up from here” 

“It is fine Carmel, I want to do it myself, so step away!” I ordered, and she pulled away and moved.

“Why is her room on the east wing? It should be on the west wing. That way I can keep an eye on her” 

“I am sorry, Your Majesty, but I think that being close to her might cause her more harm than good. You should understand what I mean I nodded at her explanation, knowing that I could hurt Chloe while trying to protect her. 

Carefully, I placed her on the bed, tugging away some strain of hair from her face and wiping away the visible team of tears in her eyes. Carmel watched keenly, her eyes filled with curiosity. 

“Send two trusted guards to protect her at all times and make sure that every one of her needs is provided” 

“Yes, Your Majesty!” Aiden bowed his head and watched me stride away from the room. 

“I see that the King is fond of this one. Remind me again how he met her because I thought that this was an arranged marriage,” Carmel asked as soon as she was certain that I was out of there. 

“What are you curious about, Carmel?” 

“Nothing much, I just need to know how much this new pet of his is going to last, perhaps longer 

than the last one or not.” 

“No matter what you do, the Alpha is 

you do, the Alpha is never going to b be yours” 

“You can’t be so sure of that. I will find the cure to his curse, even if it means that I will have to challenge the moon goddess. I will do it for him and when he is free, then I shall become his Luna. In the meantime, he can keep playing with all these girls available those” 

“I shall wait to see that day happen, Gamma Aiden replied, and seeing that Chloe was still fast asleep, he stepped out of the room with Carmel tagging behind. 

As soon as I stepped my feet into my chambers, I scurried over to the bathtub and soaked myself deep inside of it, my entire, b*dy filled with scars because with each encounter the beast takes over
