Onyx POV

Turns out that the alphas to the mountain Pack and the Moon Pack are mates. Alpha Griffone and Alpha Star didn’t jump to mate each other but they did stay by one another while our meeting commenced on what needs to be done for them to live the next day.

Griffone puts his hand on her knee making her stutter and blush instantly reminding me of this morning.

The sun beaming behind Demon casting him in a glow smiling softly to me. His eyes soft and passionate once the fear vanished. The rough unfinished wooden wolf bringing a love forward from the vault buried deep in my heart and tore it apart.

I peak at Demon speaking only to have his tarpit eyes locking on to mine, pulling me into his oblivion of love and passion.

A smirk makes his way on his face as his knee bumps mine sending my attention to back to the round table.

Amos, Sonja, Zhaire and Esmeralda sat in their chairs smirking at us while Star and Griffone smile softly at me.

Clearing my throat I ignore the looks, “If you both join the pack you will give up your alpha titles and bow to me and Demon as your Chieftains.”

Amos head tilts, “Chieftains?”

“I got tired of responding to three different titles, so we changed it to something else.”

Amos nods still smiling, “As you wish Chiefs”

Griffone sighs, “My pack isn’t much and most of us are math geeks. We were accountant slaves to the Royal pack before the abuse and trauma got too much and we ran. Luckily the King didn’t notice us gone and we tried to keep it that way. I thank you for taking out the North Pack and letting me know about them but how am I supposed to know that you aren’t the exact same as the power-hungry alphas or even the Alpha King himself?”

Shrugging, “You don’t because words mean nothing nowadays. All you can do is take a leap of faith and join or you can do the little trial thing that Demon suggested earlier and stay in the human town ten minutes away. The only thing I ask is that if you stay with the humans in that town then you need to protect them from danger. They may not be supernatural, but they are useful to us, so they need to be safe.”

Demon’s hand linked into mine and sending little sparkles throughout my body using the thumb drawing little circles on the new scar on my wrist.

The baby sparks from this morning were sweet and soft on my lips as he kissed them. Everything forgotten and new between us I had forgotten why I was there until a sharp pain came suddenly. Looking at my wrist I stare at the blood seeping from the claw marks before Demon’s shirt wraps it from my view.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t know it would be that deep. I just thought that this would be a good median because Mika told me to mark you guys and Shadow keeps saying that Mika is hinting at things that he can’t figure out. And its temporary until the scar fades away but I read in a book that Esmeralda gave me that my scent could be merged into your scent. And I wanted to take you out as my girlfriend before we fully marked each other that way there would be no regrets for either of us later. I’m sorry I ruined the moment and did it without asking.”

Mika comes to the forefront with me as my hand cups his face and we sink into those tarpit eyes of his.

I move my other hand to his wrist as Mika partially morph that hand, once at there we do the same to him as he did to us. And instead of being shocked, he smiles at me then pulls me into a hug that held so much love and comfort that we didn’t move or let go of one another for a while.

Star voice ends my little memory, “How can the humans be useful to you now? You only needed them for the buildings, right?”

Amos shakes his head, “Humans are very useful in more than just one way, but you can find that out when you have official joined the pack. Until then both of you and your packs will be treated as guest on trial, like Chief Demon has said earlier.”

Star and Griffone nod and left once they were dismissed.

A sigh left me as I grab the reports off the table, “Is there anything that is new that isn’t on this report?”

Zhaire nods, “With the Moon and the Mountain pack joining us along with the 5 vampire and the group of 10 witches we have a total of roughly 60 trying to join the pack.”

Esmeralda rolls her eyes, “It’s a good thing that the town of humans are really nothing more than farmers and construction workers. We can buy our food from them and be okay but we are going to have to start growing our own and figure out a food supply for the Vampires as well.”

Sighing I stand and go to the window, I see Micky and Alex playing with Willow without a care in the world, “With the 32 that’s already in our pack the total amount we would have should the 60 passes should be 92, right?”

Demon stands beside me, “Yes which is a bit bigger than most packs. Esmeralda are there any witches that can help us grow food? Either the ones trying to join or Yvonna or Linuh?”

“I will ask Chieftain”

Two other children run out the pack house and joined in on their playing making sure that they don’t play too rough with each Willow sits to the side and waved up to me.

I wave back speaking to Amos, “Is there any blood banks or even a hospital nearby?”

“Not within 100 miles Chief.”

I nod as the kids laugh, “We need to find the money to build a hospital or a blood bank if not both. Once its built we would need to find staff for it and there needs to be someone from the pack taking care of where the blood goes.”

Demon rest his head on top of mine, “Then we may need to let the mountain pack join us a little sooner. So, we can replace the money that Amos is giving the pack and we would also have a way to pay the workers there. Same if there is a witch that can help with food.”

Shaking my head to throw his head off mine, he lifted his head and I smile at him through the reflection in the window only to see him raise an eyebrow and putting his chin back on my head.

Asshole

Amos coughs, “As you wish Chieftains”

Esmeralda snicker pulls me to their reflections, and I can see her fighting a laugh while Amos smiles at the two of us. But Zhaire has a look of deep sadness that crushed me.

Demon must have seen Zhaire expression as well since he moves away from me and goes back to the table and sets his hand on Zhaire’s shoulder, “I will always be here my friend. Just let me know what I can do to help. We will get through this together.”

I turn to watch Zhaire nod and smile sadly at Demon. He never told me what exactly happened to his mate, but Demon knows everything and that is fine with me so long as he isn’t suffering alone and knows that he can trust someone with his thoughts and emotions. Then I don’t mind not knowing what happened.

Nodding to Zhaire, “Lets it a night and if there is anything that needs to be discussed we’ll handle it tomorrow. See what you can find out about we talked about today and we will regroup later.”

The three of them nod and then left before Demon held out his hand to me which I took.

With his hand on the handle, he paused and looked at me, “Quick question what is trail that you planned?”

Shaking my head slowly, “um I thought you had a trail planned.”

His rough chuckle fills the room, “We’ll plan one tomorrow then.”

With that said we go off to the kitchen to help feed all the munchkins in the pack before bedtime.
