Unknown Darkness (2)
Chapter 15.1

Asema

We flew through the city in the shuttle of silence as Wolf informs me that is how we get there to the portal that will direct us to Hunter Forest. We only arrive a few meters away from the village.

We landed just before a building of what seemed to be white marble but it didn’t feel like it, I stared up at the tower that caused me to crane my next up just to barely see the tip.

Why was it so high up?

“It’s up because it really like the main gateway for the city…instead of being on the outside, it in the middle” Wolf answered my thoughts.

I nodded in agreement.

He led me into the building and we took a insanely fast lift to the top, as the doors opened revealing a blue whirlpool with a blank background. Wolf motioned us towards the oval shape portal as if hovered just a few inches above the ground.

“Hold my hand” Wolf motioned his hand to me which I took and saw instantly there was forest green with a parted sun shining down.

“Shall we?” He asked me, probably for reassurance. Again, nodding and he stepped forward pulling me with him as we submerged into the portal that felt like water as we entered and was welcomed by tall forest trees with music of chirps and crickets. Looking around we arrived just outside the village and glanced behind us, but there was nothing, just if we came out of nothing. Somewhat helping me understand how Pacific Rim is untraceable.

We started forward and few minutes later we reach edge of the village where sound of crashing waves from the sea echoed in the distance. “Welcome back” Wolf said and began somewhat dragging me through a now crowded village doing their own thing as if nothing was happening outside the world.

Eventually we approached the same house I saw before with it cabin like feel with a porch out front. It gave oddly familiar feel of home. I heard feet hitting against the wooden floor inside and I reach my eyes to the screen door that held a woman figure behind it. Instantly I remembered and she smiled to us.

I was wondering when I would see you again” Her voice thickens with the accent of something I could not place.

Accailia gestured us in leading us into the living room while she urged someone outside to gather Wolf’s father Atreyu and Dux his grandpa. While she prepped some tea with Wolf and I allowing myself to be comfortable on the couch that faced the window. Watching as the occasional person walked by with a forest as a background.

Accailia came back just as Atreyu and Dux entered into the house. They gave me friendly faces, letting me know they were happy to see me.

Soon now everyone made themselves comfortable in the living room. Wolf parents on the couch but to the side allowing his grandpa to still have a good view of Wolf and I. But the more I analyzed, the more I realized that Dux had drastically changed since I have last seen him. He looked fragile, frail, not to pale.

I would ask Wolf later what was going on.

“It’s so good to see you, Asema” Atreyu said, his voice rough with a heavier accent then Accailia. “I have been worried but so good to see that you look well”

I smiled, “I appreciate it, I know it will take time to heal though.” I admitted. Letting them know my progress as they were people I could trust.

Accailia, gaze when to Wolf, “If she truly okay? She looks as if she afraid something will attack her at any moment”

I slightly offended by this statement, talking as if I wasn’t in the room.

I look to Wolf as he gazed at me too, as if he was studying for me for the answer. Turning his focus back to his mother, “She said she is okay, but truly I don’t know.” His accent present as familiar tone is something I once heard before.

My eyes glaze over his parents and stopped at Dux who was studying my intently as if he was figuring out that I knew something. I shifted uncomfortably listened as Wolf and his family changed from heavy accents to slight, between talking to me and answering to speaking as if I didn’t belong in the room.

It wasn’t till Dux spoke that sent everyone attention to him.

You understand the language we speak my dear” His voice filled with a smoothness of wisdom.

Everyone snapped their attention back to me, while I my mouth was bit gaped out but I closed it and slowly nodded, “Yes I understand,” I confessed.

Dux nodded his head, “I figured as there something didn’t know about you, I just don’t know how to place it.”

“Different? want do you mean different,” Accailia questioned, though it was voice of trying to understand not something that was she was mad.

“The Light in her eyes,” Atreyu spoke, and glanced at his wife giving her hand a squeeze. “Even though she been through hell, there seems to be brilliance she is radiating”

I was taken aback. What did that even mean?

Silence now laid between us, and Wolf began ushering me out of the house as we should get going, since my tracing is now becoming stronger, he could feel it. So, we left and found myself sprinting along with Wolf through the village and just outside the village.

“Well, that was abrupted” I stated the obvious.

“I know but, I would’ve talked longer but I can feel your signal, we needed to go”

“So, we are just going to by the subject that I can understand your Lycan language?” I placed my hands on my hips.

Wolf was about to answer when we got bombarded with men in red warrior clothing. Wolf threw me behind him

“Give us the girl and no one will get hurt” the one man said with his sword pointed down us.

Things just a got little more complicated.
