Asema

It had been couple days since I have been in Pacific Rim. Wolf stayed with me in my room but had to leave early in the morning to some place he called headquarters. Where the other warriors were planning and trying to find our son. While I sometimes stayed home trying to escape reality, Emily would come over once and to help keep me company. Though the more we discussed Kieran and what happened that more I felt fatigue.

Emily would do her best to help me but my worries as a mother was starting to eat me up.

Emily and I were sitting in the plant room connected to the kitchen. Enjoying a warm hot sun as much as the plants did. Except she was asking light questions about her brother and what else she should be aware of. Till I snapped.

“Emily, my son is gone, and in the hands of that monster hands!” I shouted at her.

She was taken aback a bit almost seemed frightened.

“He is not here, he being raised by a monster, your brother!” I said feeling enraged, knowing the words were slicing her.

Emily was still silent but she tried forcing out a word

“..ss..oo...rr..y I was just trying to help...” her voice trailed off.

“What the hell can I even do, except sit here like a sitting duck when I could help?” I could feel the adrenaline begin to build up. “The feeling of not knowing trying to stay positive.” I finished, I felt defeated.

I fell into the cushions and began to cry. Suddenly I could feel Emily hugging my side and trying to sooth me as I wept.

“Asema, I know you feel useless… but trust me we are doing everything we can” She assured me. Even those words are hope they meant nothing to me.

I just wept, how could have this happened? I felt weaker than ever, my son was not with me I couldn’t protect him anymore. Even though Wolf was trying everything in his power to find him.

“Let me hold her.” A soft deep voice spoke.

I looked up and saw Wolf looking down towards me from the threshold. A somber casted on his face.

Emily nodded and let Wolf come to me and hold me as she quietly slipped out.

His warmth did give me comfort as the pine scent started a calming effect.

“I am sorry…I just wanted to protect you… but guess you are hurting more” Wolf murmured into my ear. I leaned against him. I just wanted this to be all over. I wanted everything back and live a normal life.

“Wolf… I can’t go I don’t know what to do” I began to sob again. “I just can’t… we need…” I choked on my gasp of a cry. “We need to find him…and kill Kieran” I said started gasping for air.

All Wolf did was just hold me.

“Asema… I know, believe me.” Wolf said, and started getting up while bringing me with him.

“It is not comfort, but the answer you need.” Another voice spoke.

I raised my gaze to her. Madam stood there hands fold together in the front casting a gaze of something I couldn’t place.

Wolf stood and made his way to the door but Madam stopped him, “I believe you should stay here to comfort her.” Madam said, though it was more like a order.

Wolf gaze never left Madam till he sat next to me wrapping his arm around my body again with the feeling a electricity pulsing through our skin.

“You want answers, so please” Madam positions herself on the other side of the room and sat like a lady of royalty. Straight back, ankles crossed, hand on her lap. “ask your questions.”

I swallowed, where should I even start, “Why were you a chosen Mentor to have a child, when from seems like it you are a rare case.”

She stares back at me, her eyes closing to slits but returns to their normal shape.

“The goddess chose me to give birth, to a child, but as I told you before, something wasn’t right when it came to your birth, so you were sent to human world in order for safety.” She answers calmly.

“Why human world? What does it have that this world doesn’t?” A good question with a good answer I hoped.

Madam doesn’t seem fazed by it. She answers, “Human world does not have magic, but our world can still use magic in the human world. But it thins or hides it.”

I looked up to the ceiling raking my brain, what?

But Madam continued, thankfully, “The difference is that it is a signal or something that is traced being in the human world weakens it, meaning, growing up human weakens any connection you had to here or having powers. Therefore, if you live in the human world nothing can really trace you, like Pacific Rim except for instance.”

I crinkle my nose, “Then why does Sky High have powers as well Pacific Rim as they are in the human world.” I stated.

“Because they are connected to our world, which is why we have portals.” Wolf voice broke from behind me.

I twisted to stare at him, but returned my focus to Madam who still sat there patiently.

“What if you are making this up, and I have no actual parent, I was just created for something” I questioned her, remembering that dark night I have with Kieran.

This caught Madam off, almost as if she trying to understand a question, that may not have a answer to it.

“What do you mean?”

I sighed, closed my eyes, I needed a answer. “What if I was created for something, an equal to a power, there I would have no parent just a creator.”

“You mean Kadea and Aenor, creating you?” She was not frowning.

I just nodded my head.

She lightly laughed, “Kadea and Aenor had a child, god of balance, not something or someone that is a equal….look” she rose her hands in way to force down her anger I believe. “I know it will take time for you to come to terms with me but please understand, I want to help you, and by that help you understand yourself better.”

I stared at her simple black wedge heels. I didn’t answer, and from that she took it to leave the room.

“I think you need some fresh air…” Wolf butted in.

I shifted away from him looking to where he leaned against the wall. “Then let us.” I rose but he caught my wrist.

“No, like green fresh air… like Hunters Forest…my parents miss you.” His voice now soft as he is was scared Madam would hear him.

“Why there? is that not a risk, it is not here and there could be possible dangers.” I stated the obvious to him.

He stood now towering over me, “Yes but I have a army of Lycan to protect you, besides I know you prefer the lush green compare to this silver machine.”

I smiled at his comparison, “Then when do we leave?”

“Now.”
