Over a week has passed since then and I can barely sleep anymore. So many dreams of the past… it’s just sad. Well the dreams were happy, but it’s sad. I know my childhood, but I don’t remember everything yet. It cuts in and out a lot and I still don’t even know how I met Jason and who my real parents are. Marching season is over now and Jason and I are in last band, Concert Band, 3rd band. What can I say, I play the Flute for fun. Jason plays the French Horn, so he is practically right behind me. It’s Monday by the way, and I can barely stay awake during band, I’m so tired.

“You okay, love?” He whispered in my ear.

“Yeah, I’m just lost in my headspace, again.” I whispered back. “ I just keep seeing more and more but the questions remain. The more I see, the more I want to know I… I… just want to know who I am already.” I felt like crying, but I couldn’t.

“In time you will find yourself. Give it some time it could take anywhere from a year to four years hun. I’ll help you.” He said trying to cheer me up, but it kind of made it worse knowing I might not know for a long time.

“Why are you helping me anyways? Why do you care?” I said a little frustrated.

“We have history Jay. More history than you know.” The band director got mad at us for talking so we quit.

After band I darted to lunch, but Jason caught me and pulled me aside. “I need you to be careful in all you do, you are in a fragile state and people are out to get you.” He warned. “I don’t want anything bad to happen to you.”

I sighed. “I know.” I replied half realizing the true value of what he was saying. We then met up with Alex and sat next to him at lunch. I haven’t let him in on what is going on. I might later on, because I don’t know if I can handle all of what I’m feeling.

After school I started walking home half way there I saw something in the distance, it looked like a person, so I kept walking, but something felt wrong. He had a weird grin on his face as I passed him. Then I felt like I was being stabbed in the back. I fell over and the guy was staring over me. “Never let your guard down Jamie. I thought you would know better by now.” He said coldly. I couldn’t speak or move. My vision was fading out. I saw Jason with his sword again right before I passed out. I’m guessing he fought him off because I woke up in Jason’s house, his hands were glowing over my wounds. He was healing my wounds.

“How are you doing that?” I asked in shock and slight disbelief.

“Herbs and a little bit of magic.” He replied. “Obviously I need to help you relearn some of your powers so you can defend yourself, at least a little bit. I was going to wait until you got your memory back but you are in more danger than I anticipated.”

I was so confused and over reacted a little “What?!?”

He put a finger over my lips. “Shhh… we aren’t from this world remember?”

I took a deep breath, and then replied.” I know, I’m just… torn... I’m having a hard time with it all.”

He sighed. “I know love, I forget sometimes… you don’t remember everything…I know it’s hard.” He hugged me. “We will start training next week. Now let’s get you home.” I tried to get up and felt a huge pain down my back. I’m guessing it was written all over my face. “Here let me help you.” He said as he helped me up. “You will probably ache for a couple of days. That is normal after what happened to you. Then again, you probably can heal better than I can on your own.”

I kissed his cheek. “Thank you.” He walked me out of the house and home. I was home in time for dinner.
