“And here I thought you’d be happy that I didn’t die,” he smiles at her joke before walking further into the room and sitting on the chair.

“Let’s not talk about death for a while,” he tells her sighing. All the emotions of his pack members falling on his shoulder, his own already plaguing him from within.

He doesn’t close the link, for he wants his members to call him when needed, to lean on him for he knows they would do the same.

She smiles at him before patting on her bed and she doesn’t have to tell him twice as he gets up from the chair and squishes himself into her arms and he couldn’t help the tears that flowed, the tears he’s been keeping inside.

“I couldn’t lose you too Gen, I can’t,” he whispered and she all but rubbed her hand on his back, “You’re all I have left”.

Silence filled the room, the occasional sniffles were heard from both siblings but they found solace in each others embrace.

Whilst in another building, in another room, Solani held William close, both their sobs mixing into each other. Solani knew that now that Lugar had passed, William would have to become alpha but that would be years to come and she watches over him. For now, their Gamma would take over.

Two weeks had passed and the council had met per Melinda’s request.

Tobias had been watching over his mate ever since that near-death experience and although she was put to bed rest, she didn’t want to miss the meeting.

Lucius sat next to Solani as his Luna but also as a representative for her pack but her Gamma was there.

The room was quiet, there were no conversations between the packs but everyone was stuck in their own thoughts. Today was the last night, all the packs would stay for the last time, they would all be returning to their own packs.

“I don’t want to keep everyone here, longer than intended. I know we all have families to get back to,” she turns to Lucius, “Lucius,”

He hums and meets her eyes.

“We all have discussed this, we have discussed this with our packs and the decision is final. By order of the Peruisal Council, we have decided to make the Fan Hide a royal pack,” he watches as a paper is settled in front of him, there in front of him is the official legislation and he notices all the signatures of the alpha’s in the room with him, “Do you accept this responsibility?”

He turns looking at everyone, his eyes clear in confusion and he turns to ask why but Alpha Burke beats him to it,

“Lucius, you are technically already ruling, you have 4 of the biggest packs in the African continent on the same territory. You have led these packs to war with ease and you took on Elena Therealt, who was ready to kill us all because we didn’t want her to be Queen and I say lets not the deaths go in vain,” he sighs and looks to Perla, “I feel like all the points I’ve made were shitty”

Perla laughs, “yes they are but I think Lucius understand what you’re trying to say,” she says giving him a pat on the shoulders.

She turns to Lucius with a smile,

“Point is, you are worthy of the crown, the minute you walked into that hall. I had a feeling I would soon be following your lead and I have. Lucius, you were a king without a crown and now we are giving it to you, so just take it”.

He turns and looks at his mate, who smiles at him. He turns to Genhji who has a smirk on her face,

“Dont make all these people make sappy speeches, you know damn well I would sign those papers for you. And who are you kidding you’ve always wanted to be king”.
