"Lady Tanya, I bet you can't garden as well as Skyler. He's got a real green thumb, you know. Even the professors at the agricultural college ask him for advice; William said earnestly.

Tanya's lips curled into a wry smile. “I don't expect much. Just a cozy home is all I need”

She seemed so kind and understanding, and it was an entirely reasonable desire.

Skyler pulled a funny face. "Aunt Tanya, you should worry more... about my cousin, not me. I'm having a blast every day.” With that, he grabbed William to play a game.

They each drew a card and began to play, and after a while, they both burst into laughter.

Sierra watched the boys with timid curiosity and inched closer. "Can I play with you guys?"

Skyler waved her off. “We're not ready to play with you just yet."

Seeing her sad puppy-dog look, William chimed in, “Skyler, let her join in. The more the merrier. Skyler pouted. "Brace yourself. She can't be more clueless at games."

Aurelia handed Skyler the freshly washed strawberries.

"Skyler, Sierra is visiting Elysium for the first time. She's a guest, and you're the host now. You should be hospitable,” she said gently.

Scratching his head, Skyler conceded, "Alright, I'll listen to Aurelia and let her play for a bit"

He picked up a card and slipped it into Sierra's headband.

The three of them began to play.

Sierra, although fluent in their language, wasn't too familiar with their culture and kept missing the mark.

Skyler couldn't help but show some mockery. "William, wasn't I right? She's hopeless, isn't she?" William was ever the gentleman.

"Skyler, she's a girl, and we're boys. Let's cut her some slack.”

Skyler sighed, "Girls can be such a hassle.”

After the picnic, both the kids and adults were full and content.

Tanya decided to rest in the camper for a while and wanted Skyler to join her, but Skyler blurted out, "Aunt Tanya, is Geoffrey also here in Elysium?"

A shadow of unspoken depth passed fleetingly through Tanya's eyes.

"What nonsense are you spouting? Never mind. Go play with William and Sierra”

Your uncle and I have consulted many doctors about his delusion issue, but it comes and goes. Eventually, we just let it be. He might be lonely and want a friend. So, we let this imaginary Geoffrey keep him company.’ With that, she climbed into the camper.

Leopold and Aurelia exchanged glances and then headed toward the flower fields together. "Geoffrey is a figment of Skyler's imagination?”

Aurelia was incredulous. Could Skyler have made up all the stories about breeding bacteria and keeping venomous bugs?
