Melissa gently patted her shoulder, “You know, sweetheart, you're the first woman in the Stirling family to ever remarry. Aurelia was the only one who got the boot. In our family, the first wife is always held in the highest regard, and even if she passes on, the husbands don't remarry. They might take a mistress, but that's it.

Megan shivered, a chill running down her spine. Once she had her hands firmly on the reins of the household, the first order of business would be to rewrite the rules, making every single one of them twist to her advantage. Just then, William burst out of Skyler's tent, his face etched with urgency, searching for Aurelia. “Mom, it's bad news. Skyler received a message from Geoffrey."

"What?" Aurelia gasped, her heart skipping a beat. She quickly summoned Leopold, and they rushed to Skyler's tent.

There it was, a cryptic anonymous message on his smartwatch, (Skyler, I have arrived.]

"It's all going to hell in a handbasket,” Skyler muttered, pacing the tent like a cat on a hot tin roof, clearly dreading Geoffrey's arrival.

Leopold wrapped an arm around him, “Don't worry. I've got your back.”

Hanson had already returned to Eastwood Heights, leaving Skyler alone in the hotel.

Deciding it was best to keep Skyler close, Leopold invited him to move into his villa. It would be easier to protect him, and perhaps they could even draw the snake out of its hole.

Skyler clutched his arms, "Geoffrey's bound to bring his venomous pets. He never goes anywhere without them."

Leopold suspected Geoffrey might have smuggled himself into Elysium, as there was no way his biochemical weapons would have passed through customs undetected.

Aurelia stroked her chin thoughtfully, "He might have been here all along, just lying low and not contacting you"

William blinked his big eyes, curiosity laced in his voice. “Skyler, does your brother Geoffrey also have four PhDs and three Master's degrees like you?"

Skyler shook his head, replying, "I don't know. He's better than me anyway. All I do is tend to my garden. He tends to his venomous insects, poisonous mushrooms, and bacteria.”

"He keeps toxic bacteria?" William gasped in horror.

Skyler nodded solemnly, "He's got all sorts of nasty critters."

Aurelia and Leopold exchanged a knowing glance. Could it be that Geoffrey was not only the head honcho of the AK Group but also a researcher in some bio lab, cultivating these deadly weapons? If they could nab him, they might just uproot the whole AK Group once and for all.

William tugged at his sleeve worriedly, “Skyler, Geoffrey was terrifying. You've got to stay away from him."

Skyler shrank back, a shiver running through him, "Geoffrey says he's got eyes everywhere. No matter where I go, he can see me."

William covered his mouth in shock, "He hasn't implanted a tracker on you, has he?"

Skyler frantically emptied his pockets, "I don't have any tracking device.

"It's possible he put a chip in you while you were asleep. They do it with pets all the time, so why not people?

The only reason they don't is because the law says no.” William said gravely.

Aurelia considered this a real possibility. If the chip was small enough and of high enough quality to not harm the skin, a person wouldn't even notice it.
