Chapter 591

Leopold's expression was icy as he replied, "Behave yourself, and you can stay. Otherwise, take a hike down the mountain yourself."

Melissa wished she could find a rope and hang herself right in front of him.

Ever since he rose to the position of family head, he had become utterly ruthless.

Megan walked over and gave Melissa's shoulder a reassuring pat, "Hey Melissa, let's not get into that now. We finally got a chance to have some fun, so let's enjoy today.”

Melissa pouted, "Why didn't you just go on a romantic getaway with Leopold? Why invite them?" They shouldn't be here, especially Aurelia.

Megan's lips curled into a half smile, "The main reason was to get Skyler out of the house, and he's over at Sweetland Park right now playing with William."

“You mean Skyler with the few screws loose?" Melissa snorted with laughter.

Megan just nodded.

"Why didn't just the two of you accompany him then?" Melissa pressed on. Her implication was clear. Aurelia and William were superfluous.

Aurelia couldn't be bothered with her, and it was obvious Megan brought her along on purpose. The Stirling family were known for their intellect, but Melissa was the exception. It was like she had a genetic mutation that left her who was stupid. She'd be the type to be sold and then help count the money.

Leopold shot Melissa a glare, “If you can't say anything nice, zip it"

In the evening, William and Skyler returned.

Seeing another unlikable face, William furrowed his brow, "Skyler, someone called for backup.” "That's my cousin, but I'm not a fan," Skyler said, “She likes making fun of others.”

When Melissa used to visit Eastwood Heights, she always mocked Skyler's stuttering, even imitating his speech.

William sneered, “She's just trying to make herself feel important. Out of the whole Stirling family, she's the bottom of the barrel.”

Otherwise, she wouldn't be tagging along with Megan. Birds of a feather flock together, after all. Aurelia came over with a fruit tray, “Hungry, little ones? Have some fruit to tide you over until dinner.”

Skyler suddenly perked up, hopping and dancing around with joy.

"You called me little one? So I'm a little one too

Aurelia smiled, "If you like being called little one, then from now on, I'll call you Skyler, my little one."

Skyler clapped happily, "Yes, I love being Skyler, the little one.”

Melissa snickered, “What a fool.”

William bristled at her words, "Skyler has four PhDs and three master's degrees. You, who couldn't even get into college and had to be shipped off abroad, shouldn't you be embarrassed? Why don't you try earning a doctorate?"

Melissa's face turned beet red, “Shut up, kid. When adults are talking, children should be listening.” Skyler stomped his feet and glared fiercely at her, “Don’t be mean to William, or...or I'll th...thump you."

Melissa burst into derisive laughter, "Maybe try to learn to speak clearly before you talk.”

"Melissa, shut it.” Leopold barked.

Melissa rolled her eyes, “I was just joking around.”

Leopold snapped, "No one likes that kind of joke. How'd you like it if I said you were ugly?"

That hit a nerve. Melissa cared deeply about her looks, and she flared up instantly.

"Ugly? Me? I'm considered the most beautiful woman: William made a face at her, “Dream on. In the Stirling family, you're the ugliest, like some kind of genetic anomaly.”

When it came to biting remarks, William was second to none.

Melissa was practically fuming, "You little brat, you're asking for it. If I don't spank you, I'm not a Stirling.”

Skyler immediately shielded William and raised his fists, all teeth bared.

In the Stirling family, the person he despised most was Melissa.

William, hiding behind him, kept sticking his tongue out at Melissa, “Hit me and you'll break the family rules. Be careful or you might find yourself cut off from the trust fund for life."
