"Why'd you call her? To stir up more trouble?" His icy stare sent a shiver down Megan's spine, "I had no idea Melissa was coming. I just told her we were vacationing here.” She replied.

Melissa plopped down on a chair, unscrewed a bottle of water, and took a gulp. "I haven't hiked in ages. I'm exhausted.”

“What are you doing here? Did I invite you?" Leopold shot her a look.

Melissa quickly put on a flattering smile, "Come on, Leo, I'm your sister. I know I messed up, but I'm turning over a new leaf. Forgive me, please?"

Leopold was as cold as ice, "You should be saying that to Aurelia.”

The last thing Melissa wanted was to grovel to what she considered a nobody. She swiftly changed the subject, “Leo, give me back my trust fund. I'm broke, practically starving here."

Leopold didn't bat an eye. Until AK Group was wiped clean, she could kiss her trust fund goodbye. Without money, she couldn't cause trouble.

“If you're really that strapped for cash, get a job, earn your keep. Or better yet, get hitched, have a man to take care of you."

Melissa felt like she was at her wit's end.
