After three years, Aurelia set foot back on the familiar soil of Elysium, a whirlpool of emotions swirling within her.

She prepared a soft, cartoon-themed face mask for her son, leaving only his eyes, nose, and mouth exposed.

Winter had set in, the cold wind biting and harsh. The mask would not only keep little Kane warm but also wouldn't seem too out of place. Although Kane found it uncomfortable, he didn't refuse. After all, with his face covered, he wouldn't have to worry about being recognized.

Zack, Jolin, and Avery had moved into Blossom Villa. Avery, now a top-tier celebrity, needed to protect his privacy strictly from the prying lenses of the paparazzi.

As Aurelia walked through the door, the family burst into tears, their emotions running high. It took a while before they managed to regain their composure.

Kane, sitting quietly on the sofa, watched this heartfelt reunion unfold.

With the mask on, he was safe; his grandparents and uncle didn’t recognize him.

Jolin approached him, “Aurelia, is this you and Arno’s child?”

"He's William,” Aurelia said, patting her son's head.

"How old is he?”

“Nearly three,” Aurelia deliberately shaved a year off her son's age, “William has some social anxiety. The mask helps him feel less scared.”

“That's alright; kids often take time to warm up to new people. He'll grow out of it,” Jolin said with a smile. She brought over some pastries for her grandson, “Sweetie, these are grandma's homemade pastries. Give them a try.”

“Thank you, grandma.”

Kane picked up a piece of cake, his favorite of his grandmother's pastries.

What he didn't know was that Jolin’s mind was filled with thoughts of Kane and her “ex” son-in-law.

Years ago, Leopold had made her daughter sign divorce papers, leading Jolin to believe they were divorced. This must be why Aurelia had started a new family with Arnold.

However, the divorce was never finalized. It was all a ruse to fool their enemies.

Jolin was well aware of how Leopold had spent these past years, staying loyal to her daughter. He would surely struggle to accept her marrying someone else, let alone his own brother.

“You must be tired after such a long flight. You and Arno take the kid upstairs and rest. I'll call you when dinner is ready.”

“Okay,” Aurelia nodded.

Arnold carried their son up the stairs, only to come down shortly after. He had to visit the Stirling mansion to talk with Leopold.

When Arno entered the Stirling mansion, William, watching from his bedroom window, nearly cried out in excitement.

Daddy! He was back in Elysium with Mommy. Fantastic!

He missed his dad and mom, and Chirpy.

Leopold awaited Arno’s arrival in the study.

The air grew tense as they faced each other, a hint of a brewing storm.

"You've stolen Aurelia from me for three years. It's time to give her back!” Leopold said, a dangerous glint in his eyes.

“I didn't steal her. She was never yours to begin with! I know everything. Yours was a marriage of convenience, Aurelia never loved you, and you never treated her right!” Arno

retorted.

Leopold clenched his jaw, the words hitting him like a punch to the gut, “As long as she was married to me, she was my wife, and that will never change!” His words were firm,

resolute as a rock.

Arno shot him a mocking smile, “Where were you when she was washed ashore on a deserted island, barely alive? Where were you when she was covered in blood and wounds? If I had been a minute late, I would have lost her forever. She was in a coma for three months, doctors said she might become a vegetable, but I didn't give up. I knew she was strong and would wake up. I never forced her, I respected her decisions. It was her choice to stay with me!” He paused, his voice growing louder, “The moment I found her first, you lost! Your fate was sealed.”

Each word was like a bullet, tearing through Leopold's defenses, piercing his heart, and leaving his soul bleeding.
