The next morning, Sally brought Micah and Rina out of the house. She was going to stay true to her promise to take them to the amusement park. 

At the same time, Howard was also heading out with Kara by his side. 

Kara was elated, thinking about all of the fun she was going to gave. Although she was trying her best to keep her emotions hidden, there was still a glimpse of a smile on her face. 

Taking note of her happiness, Howard’s mood improved for the better. 

Both cars pulled up to the entrance of the amusement park. However, one went to the east gate while the other took the south gate. 

Since it was the weekend, the amusement park was bustling with huge crowds of people. 

Sally strode into the park with the two kids. Micah was already hopping with excitement. 

Rina turned left and right, curiosity lighting up her face. The amusement park was a completely new experience for her.

“Mommy, Mommy, let’s go to the roller coaster.” Micah tugged on Sally’s hand and shouted gleefully. 

Sally smiled endearingly, “Go ahead. If that’s what you want to do, go do it.” 

Her children were much different from those of other families. They were always seeking out thrilling adventures. 

While other children didn’t dare to try something so scary, her 

kids loved it. 

Although this particular roller coaster was intended for children, it still had a good amount of excitement. 

While other rides boasted long queues, this roller coaster luckily didn’t have many people waiting. 

Micah dragged Rina over to the ticket booth. 

“Rina, are you scared?” he asked in a whisper. 

The little girl stared up at the train zooming through the air. Fear flashed across her face. 

This was still unfamiliar territory for her, so it did make her nervous. However, she didn’t want to spoil Micah’s fun. In the end, all she could do was bow her head and stay silent.

Micah caught onto her worries and murmured comfortingly, “It’s okay, I can ride this by myself. You don’t have to force yourself.” 

Rina raised her head, her eyes staring blankly at his face. She timidly replied, “Really?” 

“Really. You don’t have to do something if you don’t want to. You can choose what you like instead,” he reassured her with a smile. 

The corners of her mouth rose to form a small smile. 

Sally came up behind them. “Both of you are going to ride this, right? Should I just get two tickets then?” 

“Mommy, Kara said that she doesn’t want to. She’s tired and wants food. Can you go and get food with her? I can ride this on my own,” Micah spoke up for the shy Rina. 

Sally stared at Rina in surprise. She mused, “Kara, what’s wrong today? Every time we go to the amusement park, you always go on the roller coaster. But today you don’t want to?” 

Rina struggled to come up with an answer before looking away in defeat. Her eyes landed on a food stall that was close by. 

Sally followed her line of sight and came to her own 

conclusion. She thought it was Kara just being her greedy self.

After all, she loved snacking. 

She chuckled helplessly, “It looks like the amusement park can’t even hold off your inner foodie.” 

“Micah, you don’t have a problem with being on your own on the ride, right?” 

“Don’t worry, Mommy. Go get food with Kara. I’ll come over after I’m done,” Micah said thoughtfully. 

Because he had his smartwatch and his intelligence, Sally was relieved and knew that she could trust him. 

She quickly bought him a ticket and kept a watchful eye on him as he got in line. Satisfied that he’d be okay, she took Rina’s hand in hers. “Okay, Kara, let’s go and get you some 

food.” 

She turned and walked toward the kiosk. 

“Wow, roller coaster! Daddy, I want to ride the roller coaster.” Kara had seen the ride as soon as she entered the park and let out a shout of excitement. 

Her enthusiasm surprised Howard. When they’d headed out this morning, Kara had still been so quiet, as if she was lost in her own little world.

The change in behavior was too much and too sudden. 

“Daddy, let’s go on the roller coaster.” 

Completely forgetting that she was supposed to be Rina, Kara dragged Howard toward the queue. 

As he stared at the fast–moving train rushing overhead, his eyebrows knit together. He tried to reason with her. “Rina, this doesn’t look safe. Let’s ride something else, okay? I think the carousel looks nice.” 

“I don’t want to go on that kiddie ride. I want the roller coaster.” Kara let out a fraction of her fiery temper. 

He frowned, studying his angry daughter. At last, he agreed, “Okay.” 

“Daddy’s the best.” She immediately changed her attitude and buried her face into his chest. 

Was that Kara’s voice? 

Sally furrowed her brow and looked at Rina standing quietly beside her. She became more confused. 

Clearly, Kara was right next to her. So then where did she hear her voice?

At first, he’d held onto the hope that Rina’s condition was just improving. However, these “improvements” seemed to be too much in too little time. At times, he was certain that Rina’s personality was not her own. 

“Alex, have Matt Lowell pay a visit to the Logan family soon,” he ordered, keeping his eyes on Kara.
