Chapter 461 Twists and Turns

When Maxwell finished speaking, Abbot leaned back in the seat and looked into the rear-view mirror.

When he saw the three commercial vehicles following them at a constant speed, he sneered, "They're following us very closely."

Hearing his words, the bodyguard sitting next to Maxwell said, "Mr. Carter, our people are waiting at the intersection ahead."

Abbot said, "Let them restrain and protect themselves. They just need to accompany Mr. Camden's people to the police station, stay there with them for two days, and let them know the special local conditions and customs in Cocanel."

The bodyguard responded, "Yes, Mr. Carter." Then, he took out his mobile phone and made a call to convey Abbot's words.

Hearing their conversation, Maxwell showed a gloomy face.

Abbot looked at him in the rearview mirror and asked, "Mr. Camden, are you satisfied with my arrangement?"

Maxwell said, "I want to meet Colin."

Abbot sneered, "There are many things you want to do. Do I have to meet all your requirements? Do you think I am Santa Claus?"

Maxwell was speechless.

At the same time, Lance was talking to Faye when his phone suddenly rang.

He glanced at the phone screen, looked up at Faye, and said, "It's Hank."

Faye said lightly, "He is calling you for Nylah."

Lance thought for a while and then answered the call under the gazes of Faye and Colin. As usual, he said with a frivolous smile, "Hi Hank, what's up?" Hank said in a deep voice on the phone, "Have you returned to Cocanel?"

Lance replied, "Yes."

Hank paused for a second and asked directly, "Is Nylah in your hands?"

Lance laughed, "Have you planted a spy around me?"

Hank didn't deny it but said, "Don't forget you used to be my subordinate."

Lance replied, "I will never forget that I have worked for you for years."

Hank kept silent for a while and then said, "I know what you want. Let Nylah go, and I will send you the person who kidnapped Emmett."

Lance teased, "Hank, I want Maxwell. As soon as you send him over, I'll let her go."

Hank said in a calm voice, "Emmett's kidnapping has nothing to do with Maxwell. It's Brandon that is behind it."

Hearing this, Lance frowned.

Hank said, "Lance, we grew up together. You should know I have always regarded you as a friend."

Lance said, "I am flattered to hear it."

Hank said, "For old times' sake, please let Nylah go. You can name your conditions."

Lance did not know how to answer.

Hearing him keep silent, Hank took a deep breath and said, "I will owe you a favor."

Lance was at a loss for words

Hank wasn't lying because he did have regarded Lance as a friend all these years. When they had been young, they fought side by side. Although Lance didn't want to admit it, he could not deny that Hank had treated him very well over the years. Because of this, he had not tortured Nylah after kidnapping her. He would develop affection for animals if he had raised them for years, let alone Hank who was a human.

Faye did not hear what Lance and Hank were talking about on the phone. But judging from Lance's frown, she could guess it. Hank could not force him to release Nylah, so he must be playing play the sentiment card.

Seeing Lance in a dilemma, Faye said, "Nylah is useless to us."

Hearing this, Lance looked up at her.

Faye said, "Do what you want to do."

Hearing her words, Lance gritted his teeth and pretended to be indifferent while saying on the phone, "Okay, I'll do you this favor. After all, I had worked for you for years."

Before Hank could say anything sensational, Lance continued, "Come to my villa in Alogow District to pick her up in half an hour."

After finishing speaking, he hung up the phone.

Then, he clenched the phone and looked at Faye with guilt in his eyes.

Reading his mind, Faye said, "Don't think too much. You didn't do anything that hurts me."

When he pursed his lips in silence, she continued, "After this matter is settled, you will go back to Fennth Community with me. Your identity has been exposed, so you must stop interfering in the affairs of the Farrells."

Lance agreed, "OK."

Hearing this, Colin said in a deep voice with a smile, "That's great! Andy must feel lonely when working alone. You will work together with him in the future."

Knowing Colin was trying to get him out of the embarrassment, Lance smiled, "Colin, Andy is much better at fighting than me."

Colin said, "But you're smarter."

Andy who was sitting beside him felt speechless.

Half an hour later, when Hank arrived at the villa in his car, Lance handed Nylah to him in person. Seeing her daring not to look at him, Hank stepped forward, took off his suit jacket, put it on her, and said, "Get in the car. Wait for me."

Nylah said with red eyes, "Mr. Farrell, I'm sorry for causing trouble to you."

Hank replied, "Never mind."

Hearing this, she pursed her lips into a straight line and looked up at him.

Hank lowered his eyes and said, "Don't make such mistakes anymore. I'm out of power now, so I can't protect you every time."
