Chapter 351 Settlement

Faye had no idea whether the ice on the river was thick enough, but she knew that the wind by the river must be strong enough at the moment.

Faye looked at her phone screen and broke into a smile. She then tapped on her phone and sent a message: [Have a talk with Abbot, keep a low profile, and don't be a naysayer.] Rebecca replied: [Faye, having been apart for so many years, will you still remember me?]

Faye: [Cut to the chase.]

Rebecca: [Help me.]

Looking at the messages from Rebecca, Faye turned to look at Bonnie standing not far behind her.

After giving it a second thought, Faye called Galen.

Galen picked it up and asked happily, "Ms. Nash, you're back?"

Faye softly answered, "Yup, how's everything going with the company?"

Galen stated, "According to your order, we didn't take care of it. Several reporters contacted us, and we let them get ahold of the parties involved directly." Faye said, "Well done."

The sudden praise took Galen by surprise. He dissolved into laughter sheepishly and asked, "Ms. Nash, what's our next step now?"

Faye opened her mouth, "Contact the agents of those six artists. Let them issue a clarification to truthfully explain why they went to Roxford."

In the eye of the storm, the best way to deal with public opinions was to keep their mouths shut.

Nonetheless, Faye still let them issue a clarification. It was self-explanatory that Faye used them as bullet baits.

Those six artists were not rookies; they had been in the entertainment industry for several years and were relatively known to the public.

To some extent, they also knew how the PR department would handle the crises.

Besides, they all had agents behind them.

Hearing Faye's words, Galen hesitated for a moment and asked, "What if they're unwilling to? Now, the six of them remain silent. I think it's unlikely to make them release a clarification themselves..." Faye stated, "Tell them if they volunteer to make a clarification, the company will not ask for the compensation for termination of the contracts."

Galen caught on to it in a split second and uttered, "Got it."

At this point, those misbehaving celebrities were inevitable to be blacklisted.

Back then, the contracts that those six people signed with the company clearly said that if the artist terminated the contracts because of their own personal problems and caused losses to the company, they would be obligated to pay compensation for it.

Nowadays, according to the contract signed with the media group, the compensation of liquidated damages had to be paid on an annual basis. In that case, it was common that the compensation was sky-high in the entertainment circle.

Therefore, it was definitely a big temptation for them if they were allowed not to pay for the liquidated damages.

Hanging up, Faye looked at Colin and whispered, "You gotta do me a favor later."

Colin raised his eyebrows. "Hmm?"

Faye added, "Abbot is going to make things clear with Rebecca. That gave Rebecca a good scare, and she just sent me a message for help." Colin broke into a smile and asked, "Why is he doing that?"

Faye answered, "No idea."

Colin joked, "OK, I'll help her with this."

Faye looked at his meaningful expression. However, Colin didn't look like he was going to help but more like he was going to see a good show.

Faye stared at Colin for a while before taking out her car key and handing it to him.

Colin took it over and uttered, "Where shall we go now?"

Faye said, "Send Bonnie back to the company first. I'll ask Galen to watch her issue an apology letter."

On the way to the company, Bonnie was uneasy in the back seat.

After a while, Bonnie said in a hoarse voice, "Ms. Nash, is there no wiggle room? I didn't mean it. I just wanted to get back at you for letting Mr. Farrell send me to Roxford in the dead of winter. I just wanted to make a little trouble for you, but I didn't expect things to end up like this."

As she was murmuring, Bonnie could not help but lean forward near Faye in the front passenger seat.

Faye looked at Bonnie from the rearview mirror calmly and coldly, saying, "No wiggle room."

Bonnie bit her lower lip wordlessly.

Faye then looked ahead.

They were all adults with sanity. What was done wrong had been done. There was no way she could get herself out of this with any excuses.

Apart from that, it was particularly childish and ridiculous to shift the blame to others.

There were many ways to retaliate. What Bonnie had done not only didn't benefit herself but also harmed others; she even tried to drag the whole company into trouble. Her conduct was undoubtedly despicable and lousy.

When they reached the company, Faye took out her phone and called Galen.

When the call got through, Faye asked Galen to pick them up.

Before long, Galen trotted downstairs. After seeing Bonnie in the back seat, he opened the car door for her and forced a smile, saying, "Ms. Ford, please do as I say later."

Bonnie got out of the car with a pale face; she compressed her lips and uttered, "I... I want to make a phone call."

Galen looked towards Faye with inquiring eyes.

Faye nodded slightly.

Galen stated, "Ms. Ford, why not make the phone call when we get into the office building? Recently, there are paparazzi everywhere outside. If they see you making a phone call and record it, it'll be hard for you to defend yourself."

Bonnie compressed her lips tightly without replying to Galen and walked towards the company under Galen's watch.

Galen turned around and waved to Faye before catching up with Bonnie.

By the river at that time.

Rebecca's hair was disheveled because of the wind. She looked like she was going to sacrifice herself.

"Mr. Carter, how about I go down on my knees and kowtow to you?"
