Chapter 249 Confession

As the old saying goes, a burnt child dreads the fire.

Since the incident, Alexander couldn't have the joy of consoling himself at night anymore.

Every time he was in the daydream of having sex with leggy beauties, a man ran through his mind, blowing on his neck and pinching his butt. Then he woke suddenly with a start. When Alexander was lost in the terrible memory, Colin answered, "I don't know about his sexuality. But I think it's normal."

Hearing that, Alexander heaved a sigh of relief. "Then what do you want me to get from him?"

"To get your medical records from him," Colin said.

"It's a bit difficult," Faye said honestly.

"I believe you can make it," Colin said in a serious tone.

Alexander thought, "But I don't believe that."

After chatting for a few minutes, Colin hung up the phone. Watching the endless flow of traffic on the road, he sucked on his cigarette in his chair. He felt a throbbing ache in his heart. Faye walked out of the washroom and went to Jake's office.

Jake gave her some medical advice as usual and then put on a mild smile. "You're not in a good condition today. The therapy will take another week. Do you want it to go on?" "Yes," Faye said.

"Hope your treatment will go well." Jake adjusted his glasses.

Outside the hospital, Rebecca offered to drive Faye to the company.

On the way, Rebecca stopped by a shopping mall and bought Faye a black suit.

She said to Faye, "Look at you. You look like you were robbed."

"The suit must be expensive," Faye said with a smile.

Rebecca started the car. "I don't care about the darn money. I'm never short of money."

Rebecca kept making jokes on the way.

They reached the company. When Faye got off the car, Rebecca said to her in the car, "Are you sure you're okay? Don't push yourself."

Faye smiled. "I know. Drive slowly."

After watching her walk into the gate, Rebecca slumped on the steering wheel, her body racking with sobs.

Back in her office, Faye poured herself a large glass of warm water and drank it in one gulp. After a while, her cold arms and legs started to get warm. While she was staring blankly with the glass in her hands, her cellphone rang.

She took the cellphone out of her pocket. The call was from Colin. She hesitated for a few seconds and picked it up. "Hello."

"Faye, do you want some candies?" Colin asked in a soft voice.

"Huh?" Faye was a bit stunned.

"I got some candies for you," Colin said.

"No, thanks," Faye said with a smile.

Colin was quiet for a moment and continued, "But I miss my wife. Can I go to see her?"

Faye was startled, thinking Colin may have known she had the therapy just now. "You can come by if you want to. But keep it low key."

"OK. I won't give you any trouble," Colin said in a deep voice.

More than ten minutes later, Colin appeared in Faye's office.

Faye tilted back her head and looked up at him. "I had my therapy today. It went well."

"That's good," Colin said in a husky voice.

"You look ugly when you frown," Faye said.

Colin didn't answer, sweeping her into his arms, and spoke hoarsely after quite a while, "I broke my word and watched you do the therapy. You're lying. You were in pain there."
