Chapter 248 Not Bear to See It

In the treatment room, Faye lay on a medical chair with a positioning hat on her head.

Rebecca stood silently by the bed, looking at her worriedly.

Faye stretched her finger to hook on Rebecca's.

Rebecca's eyes got red. She gulped back her tears and forced a smile.

"Mr. Farrell, the treatment will take about 30 minutes. Do you want to sit down and wait?" Jake asked.

"No," Colin said seriously, his hands in his pockets.

Jake smiled and looked over the medical records book in his hands.

At the start, Faye's face was calm.

But several minutes later, her face turned pale and her forehead started to sweat.

Colin asked anxiously, "Didn't you say that physical therapy won't cause any pain?"

Jadon went blank and looked at Jake. "Jake, why is she...?"

Jake glanced at the treatment room through the window and said calmly, "Faye's condition is quite special. She reacts very badly to the physical therapy." There was a cold tone in his voice. Jason was speechless.

Colin's jaw was set firmly in anger.

There were still twenty minutes lift. But every minute seemed an eternity to Colin.

He felt an impulse to go to the treatment room to take her away, but his mind told him he couldn't do that.

His girl tried to free herself from the grip of the shadow.

A nurse came in and told Jason a patient was having post-operative complication.

After Jason left, there were only Colin and Jake in the instrument room.

Jake looked up at Colin and scanned his face, wearing a trace of a smile. "Mr. Farrell, since you can't endure seeing her tortured, just stop watching it."

Standing still in front of the window, Colin didn't reply to him.

Jake stood up and walked over to him. "Faye has been in therapy since college. She is a very strong girl."

Colin still didn't say anything.

Jake continued, "She hasn't gotten out of the hurt, so I never expected she would fall in love with someone in this condition."

"Are all psychologists as wordy as you?" Colin cast a stern glance at him.

"No. I'm the only psychologist I know who talks a lot."

Colin remained speechless.

As the therapy went on, Faye looked like in a worse state. Her face was running with sweat and her body convulsed.

Colin clenched his hands tightly in his pockets, his nails sinking into his palms.

When the therapy was finally over, a nurse took off the positioning hat for her.

Faye lay motionless on the medical bed. After a few seconds, she sprang out of bed and hurried to the door.

"Where is she going?" Colin asked anxiously.

"To throw up. The side effects on her are dizziness, headache, and vomiting," Jake said lightly, ignoring the stern look Colin gave him and added, "Mr. Farrell, Faye will come here to say goodbye later. Do you want to see her?"

In the washroom, Faye was throwing up in anguish. At her side, Rebecca could no longer hold back her tears.

She gently patted Faye's back, wiping off her tears.

"Do you need some water?" she asked Faye.

"Yes," Faye said.

"Wait for a while." Rebecca ran to the convenience store on the first floor.

When she came back, she saw Faye crumpling on the ground in exhaustion. The usually cold and charming girl now looked extremely embarrassed.

"Faye, drink some water." Rebecca handed her a bottle of water.

Having gargled, Faye leaned against the wall of the toilet cubicle, staring at Rebecca blankly, "Did I scare you?"

Rebecca said lightly, "This is not the first time I've seen you like this."

"Do I very ugly now?" Faye said with a bitter smile.

"Don't ask me. I'm not Colin. Even if Colin sees you like this, he'll only feel sorry for you," Rebecca said.

Colin drove out of the hospital and pulled over at a quiet place. He took out his cellphone to call Ethan.

"Colin, what's the thing?" Ethan asked on the phone.

"I need to find out everything about a man," Colin said, taking out a cigarette in front and starting to smoke.

"Who?" Ethan asked.

"Jake Thomas, Faye's psychologist," Colin said.

"What's wrong with him?" Ethan asked.

"Weird," Colin said.

"But psychologists tend to have high self-discipline in morality," Ethan said.

"Lawyers' job is to uphold justice. What have you done? You can't let sacred occupations blind your eyes."

Ethan was stumped by his question and cursed, "Abbot said it right. You're very crafty."

Colin hung up the phone and dialed Alexander's number.

"Hey, Colin, what are you calling me for?" Alexander said with enthusiasm.

"I need you to get close to a man. But keep it from you sis," Colin said.

"Who's he?" Alexander asked curiously.

"Jake Thomas," Colin said.

Alexander's job was to do background checks, and he never asked the employers for the reason. But ever since he had made a mistake about James, he had taken warning from that. "But...what's his sexuality?" he hesitated and asked.
