The phone in Lianne's pocket received a video call request.

It was Tyler. Lianne had not had time to switch the voice setting when the call connected and Tyler yelled, "Where did you go again? Are you not coming home tonight?"

Lianne immediately turned down the volume and said, "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry! I wanted to tell you just now, but I got interrupted..."

Zane could no longer hear what Tyler said, but he could see how Lianne had a good temper when she coaxed the man.

"Is that so?" Zane smoked a cigarette and slowly exhaled the smoke. He called her name in a deep voice, "Lianne, remember what I told you."

Lianne asked, "What did you tell me?"

Zane put out the cigarette butt and met her eyes. "Whether it's in life or work, don't forget that you are my assistant. I won't allow my people to be bullied by others. You don't have to be afraid of Cece Graham or her family."
