Where am I

Jerica’s POV

Oh my head. What the hell happened? Last I remember I was at the pack house talking to Pam while Reo talked to Hunter, then, blackness. Where am I? It’s dark. I’m sitting up so I must be in a chair. A hard uncomfortable one at that. My legs are tied together and my hands are tied behind my back behind the chair. I try to move but it’s no use. Trying to loosen the ties is just making it rub my wrist more. I’m so scared and I’m feeling sick. Whatever they used to knock me out has given me a horrible headache and is making me nauseous. What could anyone possibly want with me? I’m a nobody orphan. If it was a vampire they would have just drank me by now. I don’t understand. Did Hunter set something up because he didn’t want me to be free? Jealous over the fact I’m mated to an alpha? Hates he’s loosing his money from the sale to that old man?

As I’m looking around trying to adjust to the darkness, a light suddenly comes on. Oh goddess, that’s bright. Headache ten times worse now. Once I can focus again I look up and see a man with a vicious smile looking back at me. Tall, skinny, pale, long black hair pulled into a man bun, red eyes and fangs. So it was a vampire. I’m more confused now. Hunter is not dumb enough to team with a vampire, right?

“Ah, finally awake. Good. Now, I’m sure you’d like to stay alive. Correct?” He says.

“Y-yes. I I ddon’t understand wh what’s happening.” Goddess, I can’t stop stuttering. Why am I so weak?

“Nice try witch. I know how powerful you are. No need to play the scared victim. The ropes on you are enchanted by the way. You won’t be able to use your powers.”

My powers? What the fuck is he talking about? He must have me mistaken for someone else. “I don’t na know what y-you are talking a about.”

“Going on with the act I see. Ok. I can play along. For now.”

Then he leaves. For real. What. The. Ever. Loving. Fuck?! He thinks I’m a witch? Me? I don’t have powers. I wouldn’t have spent my life as a maid for that jackass alpha if I had powers. I wish I had powers. I sit there for I don’t know how long. There are no windows so I don’t know if it’s day or night. I don’t know how long I’ve been here out of it. It feels like hours since I woke. I’m hungry and thirsty. I’m cold and my body feels like it could break in half any minute. At this point I wish he would drink me and put me out of my misery. Finally, the door opens and he walks back in with a woman. She has white blonde hair all the way to her knees, she is pale with purple eyes and bright red lips. She’s beautiful and scary at the same time. Definitely a demonic witch. I’m about to die. I just know it.

“She keeps saying she has no powers,” the vampire is saying.

“I feel it. She is definitely the last of the Raven family. She holds great power,” the witch says.

The who family? Great power? Do I have a doppelganger who is a witch? Why me? Haven’t I had it hard enough? I finally get saved and by a sexy, sweet alpha who I get to have as a mate, and I don’t even get to enjoy that for a DAY before I get kidnapped. What did I do wrong moon goddess? Was I bad in a past life or something? Damn!

“Untie her. I’ll test her. Make her show you her magic.” The witch says.

The vampire unties me and makes me stand. Standing is not easy by the way. The witch says something I don’t understand. Next thing I know I’m being shot backwards by some sort of force. My back hits the wall and I’m knocked out for a second. I come to and the vampire is yelling at the witch.

“Why didn’t she do anything?! I thought you said that would make her use her powers!”

“Let her wake up. I’ll try again. She’ll have to fight back.”

I somehow stand up. Surprisingly nothing is broken.

“I don’t have powers. I swear. I’m not who you think I am.”

“Impossible! I feel it!” She yells.

“She has masked it, but not well enough to cover how powerful she is. Her instincts will make her use her magic to protect herself,” she tells the vampire.

“Fight back or you’re dead!” The vampire screams at me.

“I can’t!”

The witch hits me again with more magic. I’m down. Before I black out again I hear the vampire yelling at the witch that she must be wrong and they walk out.

I wake again tied back to the chair. I guess someone came back to do that. Well, I’ll be dead soon. At least I’ll be out of my misery.

Reo’s POV

It’s 5 in the morning the next day. I’ve been working on finding clues all night. Tabitha has been meditating in Jerica’s room for an hour now. I know it’s a process but I’m about to go crazy. I want my mate back. A little piece of my heart is breaking off every minute she’s gone. Caleb and I have been looking for more clues. Anything that might help. We’re coming up with nothing. And this so called pack? Not even helping. Well, other than Pam who is now up and going. I’m at the edge of the pack lands when the king’s guards pull in.

“Alpha Reo. Have you found anything to help find your mate yet?” The guard in the passenger seat ask after rolling down the window.

“Not yet. Harold right?”

“Yes sir. And this is James. In the car behind us we have three other guards and Curtis who is the board member taking over the pack. Climb in and we’ll drive you and your wolf back to the pack house.”

“Thank you.”

We hop in the car and get back to the pack house. Once there, Hunter walks out.

“Thank you for coming to help find Jerica. I’m saddened about the kidnapping of one of my members.” He says.

‘Yeah right. Sucking up and playing the great alpha for the king’s guards. Nice try,’ Red says. I already had to hold him back when I shifted to sniff out clues earlier. We’re not gonna last much longer before we kill that son of a bitch. It’s a good thing the guards got here a few hours early.

“Yes I’m sure you are. I’m James, one of the king’s guards. Where is your beta, Frank?”

“I’m right here.” Frank walks out the door.

“Great. You two are under arrest by the orders of King Alpha Benjamin.”

Two of the guards come up and puts silver cuffs on Hunter and Frank.

“What the hell?!” Hunter yells.

“We have proof of corruption. Only protecting the rich and for the mistreatment of one of your pack members who also happens to be a human.”

“Reo! You bastard! You did this.”

“No, you did this to yourself.”

They get a very upset Hunter and Frank in the car and two of the guards drive off with them. Curtis tells one of the wolves to mind link everyone that there is a meeting in the hall. After a yes sir he goes and does that.

“I’m going to prepare everyone for my take over. Harold, James and Liam will help in finding Jerica. May the goddess be with you,” Curtis tells me then he heads in.

Liam, the other guard that was in the car with the other two that took Hunter and Frank comes up to me and bows his head.

Before I can say anything to them Tabitha runs out.

“Alpha Reo! I’ve got something. I’ve set a spell in motion that will lead us to Jerica. And I must tell you. I feel she is something more special than you think.”

“We’ll talk about that after we get her. Come on let’s go.”

We get in our cars and Tabitha leads the way. I’m coming Baby. Don’t worry, I’m coming.
