Chapter nineteen - Only the beginning

I just wish he'd talk to me. It's been a whole day. He hadn't said a word to me. I couldn't imagine the things he must've been going through...I sympathized for him a lot... Even though he was ignoring me big time.

I couldn't hide how I felt.

I was sitting at the edge of a lake, washing my face and taking a sip of water. Ace had wandered off somewhere.

He was probably collecting water, trying to avoid me. I stared into the water at my reflection. My face looked slimmer, my eyes bigger and popped. My hair was a mess and I thought of taking a dip in the cool, calm sparkly water. I decided against it, Ace was probably done doing whatever it is he was doing already.

I got up and dusted myself off. The sun cast a glimmering shadow onto the water and the day was brand new.

I heard a splash from the other side of the river. Slowly I walked over, following the sound.

"Ace...?" I called out cautiously as I approached a closed-off area of the Lake. Long green vines acted like a curtain. Through little spaces I could see someone bathing in the water.

I could see it was Ace and I shouldn't have looked but I walked closer.

I gently moved the vines aside and peaked my head through. My breath caught up in my throat and my heart stopped.

His back was turned towards me and he was running his hands through his slick black hair, now slightly curly.

My voice got lost somewhere in my throat as my eyes roamed his body.

His back was ripped, nothing but pure muscle. His torso was toned and his biceps looked like they could crush me. My eyes roamed lower and caught his perfectly sculpted butt. My breath quickened and my heart raced. Heat rose to my cheeks and down to my belly between my legs. He was truly a sight to behold.

ACE P.O.V

It hit me like a tornado. A searing wave of want, of need. I stopped. She was standing behind me I knew it, I could smell her, could feel her.

I shook my head and tried to clear it but it just got worse.

A feeling of want and need rushed through me, but this time, it was my own. I grunted, I couldn't stop myself.

I couldn't deny the bond, every time I saw her these feelings resurfaced. I wanted her so bad it hurt.
