I stared at it intensely for a while before I spoke. “Chloe, don’t you truly understand what this means or its implications at all” 

“What are you talking about, this is meant to be a gift and I thought that you would appreciate it” Her eyes were searching for answers, her ignorance could not be hidden. 

“Discard this away before someone sees it!!” I yelled at her and scurried out of her room.

NOAH’S POV*** 

Once Chloe left the pack, I was so furious with Ashley and her Mom, There had been so many issues with the Rogues and our territory that we were hoping for the Lycan king to help resolve the issue, but Mrs. Clara ruined everything. 

“I am sorry Ashley, but we can’t proceed with the marriage ritual” 

“What! What does that mean, Chloe is gone now, nothing is stopping us why would you say that now?” Ashley tried to force a smile even though I knew that she was trying 

to hold up every strain of hope she had left. 

“I am sorry Ashley, but your mother just made an enemy of the Lycan king and I do not want to get involved in this feud, I meant it when I told Chloe that the pack will always come first to me” 

“So you are saying that you are breaking up the engagement with me?” 

“No, I am a nobleman and do not want to hurt you, I understand how you feel, and believe me when I say that soon you are going to become my Luna, but right now things are in a mess, we are losing our territories to the Rogues and only Ryder Hales can help us out of this 

“So you are saying that I wait, how long?” 

“Not so long, until after all this is resolved, please I need you to be stronger than you always have for me” I held her arms, but she pulled away, trying to hold back the tears that were forming in her 

eyes. 

“What do you take me for, a fool, I know that you have never loved me and you only agreed to this marriage because you wanted My father’s support in your leadership and even now you are still trying to hold up to whatever crack is left of our relationship because of my father, you and I know that he is going to turn his back at you and there is nothing that you can do about it!!” 

She was filled with so much anger and her eyes glared at me like her wolf wanted to shift form and devour me, I tried to grab her arm, but she stormed out of there, not listening to another word 

from me.

The next day. The hall was filled with the council members, we had just received a message from the Lycan king, although it had not been read, but everyone had their gaze covered in fear hoping that I could save the situation… 

“What is written in the letter?” I asked as I stormed in dressed in a luxurious suit, they all stopped talking and turned to me. “We did not dare go through the letter without your consent” One of the council members explained. 

“Go ahead and read it” I ordered while maintaining a blank 

Pression, they had their gaze piercing at me, but I wasn’t going to let them see even a glister of fear in me just because the Lycan king who is a beast sent out a message. 

One of them carefully went through the message and when he was done, he heaved a sigh of relief before relaying the message. 

The Lycan king Ryder Hales has requested for the presence of everyone Alpha from the five packs at his pack house by noon today for an emergency meeting and details weren’t stated here” He explained and everyone felt relief knowing that it was just a meeting between Alphas. 

I went back to the pack house and began packing my clothes alongside beta Sebastian ready to depart, no doubt his daughter who walked out on me the previous day had been informed of my departure to Havel pack and she rushed over to the pack house just as I was about getting into the 

car. 

“Ashley, what are you doing here?” Sebastian who was stunned to see her asked, knowing fully well that she wasn’t supposed to be there. 

“I am sorry Daddy, but I need to speak with the Alpha” Sebastian turned his gaze at me, I nodded 

head at him and he knew that he had to excuse us, although she was his daughter, she was my fiance who I was already engaged to.

“What is going on Ashley, I thought that you were angry with me?” 

“Yes, I was, but after several considerations, I realize that you are right, I shouldn’t be angry at you at such a time, our pack is going through a lot right now and you need my assistance both physically and emotionally, so I decided to come with you to this journey” 

“What! Do you realize what you are saying, you want to come with me to Havel pack?” I asked, not certain that she understood where we were headed for. 

“Yes Alpha, I want to come with you to Havel pack, besides I missed Chloe considering that we left on the wrong foot and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to patch things up” 

She explained I knew that wasn’t the true reason she wanted to come along with me, but I had no choice but to yield to her demand. “Fine! Go get your stuff and be back in a few minutes” 

“No need for that, I already packed up my stuff” She pointed to her luggage behind her and I was so

“Fine! Get into the car!” I ordered and a wide smile filled her face.
