After he left, I still went ahead to continue with my meal, and when I was done, Carmel walked over and occupied the seat opposite to mine where Ryder previously sat 

“So Luna, you seem so close to the Alpha, tell me I thought you were forced to marry him? 

“Why would you ask me something like this?” 

“No offense but you seem so clingy with the man whom you were forced to marry, don’t you think. that is a bit absurd, one would think that you are desperate or something” Her l*ps curled into a tight–l*pped smile. 

“Why does it matter to you, it is not like you should be bothered about something like that right?” I asked and got on my feet. “Clean this up, that is your duty right because I do not seem to see of what use you in this mansion 

“What!” She opened her mouth to say something else but obviously kicked against it, no doubt she thought twice before speaking while I strode out of the dining hall. 

RYDER’S POV**** 

Aiden and I finally went back to the territory that we had just recently acquired, I had targeted it for a long because it was large, on a good outskirts, and no doubt going to be good for a branch of my 

company. 

But the more we drove closer to the gate, everything seemed strange, I could smell it from afar, the hairs on my skin strained up, my eyes flickered red, and I knew something wasn’t right. 

“Aiden stop the car! Right now!!” I roared and he stepped on the brake forcefully. “Your majesty, what is it?” 

“Everything doesn’t feel right, I smell blood, get of the car and let go inside by foot, I need to be able to ascertain the danger ahead on time” I ordered, Aiden immediately tugged off his seat belt and alighted from the car, we both had a cautious look on our face while sneaking in through the woods. 

“You are right Sire, no one is at the gate, that isn’t supposed to be” He noticed the moment that we were at the gate but as we swung the gate open, there were the corpses of two of my wolves on the floor, their skin spattered on the floor. 

Aiden popped his eyes wide while my gaze went cold, we have heard situations of attack before, but never had we experienced something like this. 

“They shredded their skin, how is this possible?” Aiden asked rhetorically, I went on my knees. trying to ascertain the level of the attack. On the floor was a tiny bullet and I picked it up and stared at it through the sun.

“I can’t think of anything else, if the rogues had attacked our men to physical combat, no doubt they stand no chance against them, but something seemed wrong, the weapon how deadly could it be to have shredded their skin like this?” 

I wondered as I strode closer inside, the entire place was filled with the blood of the men that I 

years training 

“Whatever killed them, is something that we shouldn’t take lightly, they have created a weapon that can destroy werewolves so easily, we should not take this lightly else, they are going to conquer all packs” 

“What are you going to do Sire?” Aiden asked, no doubt there was a glitter of fear in his eyes, but my expression remained cold. 

“Call for a meeting for all the Alphas of the five packs, alert them that there is danger and they should all be at my pack house by noon tomorrow” 

“What about this place, no doubt this is a warning telling us that they have taken over this territory” 

“No on my watch, no one dares challenge the Lycan king and live to tell of it, surround this place with some traps and a spy, I want to be alerted of when they make a move, that way I can be sure to act!!

“Dice was deep and filled with rage, he nodded his head and followed me behind. We headed for the car and drove off, but as soon as we arrived back at the pack, I could see Chloe staring at me from the window of her room and the moment my eyes met with hers, all the rage inside of me seemed to have washed away. 

I scurried over to her room, swung the door open and a smile filled her face. “Welcome back, I made something special for you while you were gone” 

She stood right in front of me, although she was slender but still lacked height, I was huge, so while she stood before me, she had to lift her head to meet my gaze. 

“What is it?” 

“It is a surprise, so I want you to close your eyes so that I can show it to you” 

“Is that necessary?” 

“As I said, it is a surprise, I need you to be amazed” She explained and I groaned before yielding to her demand. 

“Open up!” She ordered and when I opened my eyes, I could feel my Lycan growl. There was a large painted album of me on the floor in my Lycan form, but what amazed me and made me furious at the same time was her ability to capture the beast in me, my eyes glowing red and ant image of the beast could be clearly seen breathneath my Lycan.

“Chloe what the hell. Is this, why would you draw something like this?” 

“Because it was the moment of you that I loved the most, that moment when you were in your Lycan form and you saved me from my mother, you listened to my voice and you got me out of there, I want to remember that moment every day of my life” 

She explained, her face so bright and filled with excitement, I wanted to be angry at her, I needed to be furious at her, it felt like a mockery of the curse that I have had to bear all life and yet, Lcould see that she was aware of what it meant.
