“Edith… I didn’t mean that. You misunderstood me” 

“Edith… don’t be so mean. Let’s think of a way to deal with this together. My family will definitely help you. We’re engaged.” 

Johann frowned. He couldn’t stand the sarcasm in Edith’s tone. 

When Edith heard Johann’s words, her heart ached. 

Edith thought, “is this really my fiance? He knows that we are engaged, but he has been helping Vanessa.” 

Edith shook off Vanessa’s hand, and Edith’s delicate face was filled with coldness. 

“Johann, I know your temper. You like to help the weak, and you are very considerate. I can understand why you chose to help Vanessa, but before you took her away, shouldn’t you have thought about what it meant? You’re my fiancé. What position were you in to do that?” 

“Johann was speechless and unable to retort. 

Seeing that he couldn’t answer, Edith sneered, “You stood up for her without hesitation, but what did you do to me? You had so many ways to help her, but you chose to leave me behind. What else could I do? What do you want me to do? Vanessa needs your protection. What about me?” 

“Edith, it’s all my fault. I won’t let that bastard bully you. My family will fight against him to the end,” Johann said firmly. He looked intensely at Edith and held her hands tightly. No matter how hard Edith struggled, Johann didn’t let go of her. 

Vanessa wanted to stop Johann 

“Johann… The Lawson family is so powerful that few people in Caurtine can compete with them. Don’t do anything stupid.”
