Seeing Layla frowning, the girl in the next bed handed her a glass of warm water. “If you can’t sleep, don’t force yourself to sleep. You can talk to me. 

“When you talk to me, your attention will be diverted, and it won’t hurt so much. How about a glass of warm water first?” 

Layla opened her eyes. She looked at the water glass handed over by the girl and took a sip. 

“Thanks.” 

“Miss, what’s your name?” 

“Layla.” 

“Layla, hello. My name is Emily Wilson.” 

“Well.” 

“Layla, how old are you?” 

“Twenty–four.” 

“Layla, are your parents busy with work? Why did your younger brother send you here yesterday?” 

“I have no parents.”

“It’s okay.” Layla didn’t want to talk about that anymore. She thought of the scene before she passed out and asked, “Do you know how I was sent here?” 

“A group of people sent you here.” Emily recalled the scene and couldn’t help saying, “It seems that they are all in the music industry. Layla, is your brother also in the music industry?” 

Before Layla answered, Emily continued, “Layla, do you know? When your brother sent you here, he was worried about you. His leg was injured, but…” 

As soon as Zachary walked to the ward door with food, he heard someone talking about him. 

He frowned and deliberately made noise when he walked in quickly. 

Layla heard footsteps and looked up. She saw Zachary. “Zachary, you are back.” 

“Yes.” Zachary walked up to Layla. He put various snacks on the table next to her and set the tableware thoughtfully. “Help yourself.” 

Emily, standing aside, watched Zachary do everything with undisguised envy in her eyes. 

“Miss Wilson, have you had something?” 

“No.” 

Seeing Emily’s blazing eyes, Layla asked politely, “Would you like to have something with me?” 

“Okay. Thank you, Layla.” 

With that, Emily didn’t stand on ceremony and took half of Layla’s food away without waiting for Layla and Zachary’s reply. 

Seeing Emily’s behavior, Zachary wanted to say something but was held back by Layla. 

He looked back at Layla, and Layla shook her head at him. 

“Enjoy it!” 

Zachary rearranged the snacks for Layla and handed the spoon to her with a snap. 

He might be angry at Emily’s behavior or Layla’s soft temper. 

Realizing that Zachary might be angry, Layla held back what she wanted to say and quietly finished the meal. 

After finishing the meal, Zachary packed up the food boxes and was about to throw them away. 

Layla stopped him and asked hesitantly, “Zachary, where is my phone?” 

“I’ve asked for a ten–day leave for you.” Zachary turned to look at Layla. “Why do you need your phone?” 

“I…” Thinking of Wesley’s temper, Layla lied, “I want to check the time…” 

Zachary took out his phone and interrupted her, “It’s April 22, 5:30 p.m. It has been a day since your accident. Is there any 

you need your phone for?” 

Hearing Zachary’s words, Layla became disappointed. 

It had been a day. Would Wesley look for her? Layla denied the ridiculous idea soon. 

How could Wesley look for her when he was not in need? 

When Layla was restless, Wesley arrived at Azure Hospital. 

He walked to the brain surgery department easily and ran into a male doctor who had just come to work. 

Wesley had invited everyone to dinner, so the male doctor recognized him at a glance. 

“Mr. Harrington, are you here to see Doctor Brooks?” 

“Yes.” 

The male doctor looked at his watch. “Mr. Harrington, you are early. Doctor Brooks will get off work in an hour. You can come in and sit there to wait.” 

“Alright.” 

Wesley walked into the office and looked around. Then, he sat in Layla’s seat. 

The male doctor changed into his work clothes and came out of the locker room. 

Seeing where Wesley was sitting, he couldn’t help saying, “Mr. 

Harrington, you’re sitting in the wrong seat.” 

“Really?” Wesley looked at the male doctor calmly without the slightest embarrassment. “Whose seat is this?” 

“Well, that’s Layla’s seat. You met her before.” The male doctor glanced at Layla’s seat. Nothing was on her table, as if no one was sitting there. The doctor said with a smile, “She’s on leave for a few days.” 

“On leave?” Wesley tapped the table with his fingers. “She doesn’t look like someone who likes to ask for leave.” 

“Yes.” When Wesley mentioned Layla, the male doctor also remembered that Layla had never asked for leave since she entered the hospital as an intern. “Miss Edwards is dedicated to her work and has never asked for leave. 

“It was her younger brother who asked for leave for her while she was asleep.” 

“It’s so easy to ask for leave from the hospital?” Wesley said casually. 

“No.” The male doctor sat in his seat and turned on the 

computer to sort out the documents that would be used later. He said emotionally, “Unless you are sick and can’t even climb up, the hospital will approve the leave. 

“Or something serious happens at home, and you have to deal with it yourself.” 

After the male doctor said that, he stopped what he was doing and realized something. “It seems that something has happened 

Wesley became thoughtful and stopped tapping on the table, and his eyes were fixed on the empty pen holder in the corner. 

Wesley didn’t speak anymore. The male colleague sorted out the documents and printed them out. Then, he said goodbye to Wesley and walked out of the office. 

Wesley was left alone in the department. Then, a female doctor came to get materials and saw Wesley sitting in Amy’s place. She had a polite conversation with him and expressed her envy for Amy. After she left, the office was quiet. 

It wasn’t until Amy finished the operation that she knew Wesley was waiting for her in the office, so she hurried back to the office after washing her hands. 

Seeing Wesley sitting in her place waiting for her, Amy smiled. “Wesley, have you been waiting for long?” 

“Just a while.” 

“I’m sorry.” Amy walked up to Wesley and bent down. She took Wesley’s hand and kissed it. “I didn’t know you were coming, so I agreed to do the operation for my colleague temporarily. Next time tell me before you come. I won’t make you wait again.” 

Wesley held Amy’s hand and looked into her eyes, and his deep voice was full of temptation. “Since you feel sorry, make it up to 

me.”
