Chapter 11 Don’t Sympathize With

Me

Both of them were smart. Layla understood the implication of Amy’s words immediately.

Amy was worried that Layla would seduce Wesley away.

Ms, Brooks, you overthought.” Layla turned on the computer, calmed down, and started operating on it. “Only you can be worthy of Mr. Harrington.”

“Thank you.” These words successfully pleased Amy and made her smile.

Amy was really worried that Wesley would be fascinated by Layla. She had heard many rumors about Layla before she went to investigate her

At school, countless men fancied her.

Now, not long after Layla had joined the workforce, many people in this hospital inquired about Layla’s contact information.

It would be a lie that Amy was not worried.

She was afraid that Layla was a social climber and that if she didn’t take action in time, Layla would succeed in seducing Wesley

Okay.”

Feeling her joy, Layla looked up at Amy. Ms. Brooks, but I’m curious about what you have found.”

and

“Everything about you.” Amy approached her, leaned over, whispered in Layla’s ear, “Don’t worry. I won’t tell others about the situation of your family. I will keep everything about you

secret.”

Hearing this, Layla finally felt relieved.

It seemed that Amy only knew what Wesley wanted her to find

out.

Or, in these years, Wesley had been very secretive, so Amy did not find any clues about Layla and him at all.

Including what you did to save your brother… I won’t say anything.”

Layla’s face turned pale. She said to herself, “Did Amy even find out about this?”

Then…

“Don’t worry. I have already destroyed those materials,” Seeing her pale face, Amy hurriedly said, Layla, no one else will know about it.”

“Thanks.Layla picked up the water glass, wanting to drink water to relieve her panic, but her hands trembled uncontrollably

Layla looked up at Amy in confusion, only to see sympathy and a trace of guilt in her eyes.

Amy sympathized with her experience and felt guilty about uncovering her miserable past.

“Layla, shall we be friends?”

Layla gently got rid of Amy’s hands. “Ms. Brooks, don’t sympathize with me.”

Amy looked at her. Layla had a gentle expression, but there was an unapproachable alienation hidden in her eyes, as if no one could walk into her heart.

“I don’t have friends…” Layla lowered her eyes, covering the sadness in her eyes. “And… I don’t need friends, either.”

After finishing speaking, she stood up abruptly, picked up the notebook for rounds, and walked outside.

When she reached the door, she stopped suddenly. Ms. Brooks, an outstanding person like you should have no shortage of friends, right?”

Hearing this, Amy opened her mouth but said nothing.

She was not short of friends.

It was just a whim that she wanted to be friends with Layla.

Layla was right. Amy felt sympathy for her after finding out all her information.

But, in addition to sympathy, there was also a hint of admiration

Amy admired Layla for making such sacrifices for her brother

If it were Amy, she couldn’t have done it.

Of course, if it were her elder brother, he could not have done it, either

Maybe he wished Amy could die.

She envied Layla’s brother for having such a sister who would sacrifice everything for him
