Lorena POV

He leaned closer to me as soon as he made that statement and I closed my eyes waiting patiently to be kissed by him. I felt his hands on my cheek and anticipated the kiss. As he leaned closer, I could feel his breath on my nose. I shouldn't be doing this, I thought and wanted to push him when our lips met. My eyes widened and I placed my hands on his shoulder. What just happened? Did I just kiss a man I just met and betrayed Fenrir? I shouldn't be doing this. “No,” I said in between the kiss and pushed Alistair. He was surprised by my sudden reaction and stood up.

“I got carried away by your beauty,” he stretched forth his hand towards me and pulled me up from the ground. I averted my eyes from his and tucked my hair behind my ears. “I apologize for kissing you,” he said.

I forced a smile on my face and nodded in response. “It's okay” I told him but deep inside of me, it wasn't okay because I knew that Fenrir could have seen us even though we were surrounded by trees. I looked around me hoping that Fenrir wasn around there and luckily for me, he wasn't. “Thank Goodness," I inhaled deeply and placed my hand on my beating. I had no reason for being scared of Fenrir but at the same time, I didn’t want him to find me in such a compromising situation and called me names again. “I believe we should start leaving right?” I turned to leave but Alistair grabbed my hand. “What are you doing?” I asked him because I had no idea why he was doing that when it doesn't seem like he had an ulterior motive. “Are you still mad at me for what I did?" He asked the obvious question. Because I didn't want to argue any further, I shook my head in response and yanked my hand from his grip.

“I enjoyed listening to nature," I rubbed my wrist and smiled at him. “it was nice knowing you but I guess we should leave now," I told him and he nodded in response without arguing. Staying in the forest together was going to raise more question when Fenrir finds out about us. I didn't care about how he felt but I just couldn't face him again and let him call me names. The reason why I cared about what he think still baffles me. Everything Miss Donna did was to get him jealous but now, I act as if I didn't want him to see me with somebody else. “You.” my voice broke as I tried to speak but I suddenly lost my voice. “I.” I wanted to slap myself at that moment because the plan to make the king jealous was not working instead I could feel his burning gaze on me and I knew that it wasn't jealousy. It was anger.
