Lorena POV

“leave!"He growled at her. “If you have any shame left then you'll Leave my office. Stop acting like a whore...” His words resounded in my head as I thought about what had happened between us in his office. As I stood in the shower and let the water cascade down my body, I scrubbed my body harshly and let the tears on my face flow freely. It's been two days since we met and he hasn't called for me or even attempt to invite me for dinner. While others were training for the noble consort competition, I was drowning in my thoughts.

“I did all I could to free everyone but why does it seem like my best is not enough,” I scrubbed my back harder and yelled even though I knew would hear my voice due to the shower. “What does he want from me!” hit the walls of the bathroom and punched it breaking the bones in my knuckles. Blood trailed down the wall from my hand but I pretend that I was fine. “My lady,” Miss Donna knocked and opened the door. She was the only one who had access and my permission to enter the bathroom so I didn't waver or moved an inch when she entered. “What have you done to yourself?” She shrieked and movec closer to me. She wrapped the towel in her hand around my body and pulled me out of the bathroom. “Why would you try tc hurt yourselft” She shouted at me and turned off the shower.

“I...” I broke down in tears. Miss Donna didn't say anything else and grabbed my hand pulling me out of the bathroom. Once we were inside the room, she pulled me towards the bed, and once I was seated, she let go of my hand and walked to the dressing table. Opening the first drawer, she bought a first aid and walked back to the bed. She sat down beside me and grabbed my hand. She placed my hand on her thigh.

“I don't know why you did this but it doesn't solve anything” she wiped the blood cleaned from my knuckles with cotton wool. “Is this about the king?" She asked and I nodded in response. “If this is about the king then hurting yourself would not Solve any issue.”

I already knew about that before hurting myself. I couldn't understand why I had thought about myself all for someone who was supposed to hate. I should hate him and not care about his name calling but for no reason at all, I was upset that he ha called me names and treated me as if I meant nothing to him.

“Remember why you are here Lady Lorena,” Miss Donna reminded me as she applied an ointment to my h and. “I admired your courage the first time I saw you and I am glad that I get to serve under you. *

I smiled at her and wiped the tears on my face away with my free hand. “I am not upset about what the king said but I feel like I am not doing enough. I feel like I am lagging," I heaved a sigh and took a deep breath. When I released my breath, I stared at my knuckles. It was reddish and Miss Donna was about to apply plaster on it. “I feel like I am not doing anything to help the humans even when I have promised to protect them all. *

“Did you make a promise to the humans?” She asked and finished applying the plaster. “Your knuckles will be fine,” she placed my hand on the bed and stood up.

“I didn't make any promise but I feel like I am doing enough for the humans and I..."

“Enough Lady Lorena,” Miss Donna stood up and grabbed my hand. Pulling me up, she headed towards the closet and pickec a black dress for me. It was a short long-sleeved dress that shows a little at the back. “Why don't you take a walk around the mansion and see if anything would interest you?" She suggested.

I'shook my head in response because I wanted to stay on my own without having anyone around me. “I think I'll be better in my room. What if I run into the Alpha king?"

Miss Donna pushed the dress into my hand. “That is why I came up with something that might interest you,” she smiled at me.

I found her smile tricky and knew that she was up to something. “What are you hiding from me miss Donna?” I asked her as I wore the dress and it barely reached below my knees. Bending Down was going to be hard for me because my a*s would be on display if I tried to. “Don't you think this dress is too short for me?" I pulled it down.

“No,” Miss Donna replied and grabbed my injured hand.

“Ouch,” I groaned in pain.

“Sorry,” she apologized and let go while grabbing the other hand. She pulled me towards the dressing mirror and sat me down.

“What are you doing?” I asked her.

“Something that would lighten up your mood,” she said and applied makeup on my face. “I am sure when the king sees you then he'll realize what he is missing. *

“No,” she shook her head as she applied lipstick to my lips. “We are going to make the Alpha king jealous.”

“Yes,” Miss Donna said and went back to combing my hair. “We are going to make him jealous and I have the perfect idea for that. *

I folded my hands and chuckled. “Okay,” I found her idea funny yet I wanted to try to see the reaction of the Alpha king. “Look at the perfection in the mirror," she said.

I grinned widely when I saw my face in the mirror. My make-up was little but it gave me a different look. Miss Donna applied red lipstick on my lips giving me a badass look. I smiled at my reflection. “I love this new look,” I gave miss Donna a thumbs up. “It makes me look like a different person. *

“I am glad that you like it" she rubbed my hair. “Now let's make the king jealous,” she said and I nodded in response. “How?” I asked her. Making the king jealous was going to be hard because he doesn't seem like a person who could get jealous of me who was a nobody but an ordinary s*x slave.
