Chapter 24 ~ She already knows everything

All the ladies have been in my room since just after lunch. Momma, Helena and Grandmom have had me in a milk bath with mink oil.. then they set about painting sigils and runes on my skin with Henna.. Apparently, I am having a traditional witch ceremony.. which falls into the category of information nobody saw fit to tell me. Helena is weaving baby’s breath and lavender in the braids of my hair.. Momma had already clamped the beads she thought I needed in there.

My undergarments are… well.. essentially nonexistent. Strapless bra with demicups and a tiny white silk g-string. Then the dress.. It is floor length..strapless..with a tight fitted bodice.. hugging my body to my hips.. then flaring from there into a full skirt that twirls when I spin. It’s white gossamer lace over chiffon. And I absolutely love it!

Ella and Anna are in matching gowns.. their hair is pulled to one side.. exposing their left side for the mark. Their gowns are a rose pink… with small blue flowers sequined into the bodice. The hem is a high-low style and the waist is cinched with a Swarovski crystal belt sash. They are beautiful but I can’t stop the giggle “Y’all trying to confuse your mates even before they can mark you?” Ella busted out laughing “No! And stop! You know Alex knows me with his eyes closed!”

We had decided I wasn’t shifting tonight.. Earlier in the week, we planned a pack run.. but after Ethan being at the Den last night.. Kendrick sent word we were sitting this run out.. and will run on our own territory tomorrow night before the feast to celebrate.

I watched Alexander and Ella’s ceremony from the sidelines.. I couldn’t see where Kendrick was, anyway.. so I figured I was safe from any bad luck from an old wives’ tale. Jaxson was standing off to my right and Jake on my left. I was left nowhere alone… especially after last night. As soon as Alexander marked Ella.. Baron stood waiting for Anna to walk down the aisle.. Uncle Cody was escorting her.. Daddy had walked Ella down. The men in our family are so kindhearted. They stepped right in.. knowing Ella and Anna had lost their parents.

After they were ascended to their ranks, I felt their bond snap into place, and I smiled! Unfortunately, my bond to the pack will break, once I become Luna. Only my familial bonds will remain. My bond to Harvest Moon will fill the void quickly..so there’s little to no pain.

My dad walked up to me, smiling.. “Are you ready?” He looked so handsome.. I am so proud of my family! They are my world. Even with our ups and downs.. we always find our way back to happiness. That’s what family does! I smile at him and nod “Yes, Daddy. I am. Kendrick is my everything.”

The moon was nearly dead center in the sky as we started walking up the aisle to meet the man of my dreams, and become his Luna! My eyes are trained on him, as he turns to greet me. His smile widens and his eyes go glassy. He is the most beautiful man I have ever laid eyes on! I tear up… but I smile back!

Kendrick’s POV ~

This has been an interminable day… I tried seven ways from Sunday to stay busy..and I still couldn’t stop missing My Belle. I couldn’t even hear her voice.. We did manage to get a couple texts to each other before they took her phone. Stupid tradition! Alexander and Baron’s ceremonies are over.. and now, everyone has turned to face the door Bella will come through. Except me.. Loren won’t let me turn until she reaches the stairs. Again! Stupid fucking tradition! He finally let me turn around.

My breath caught at the sight of her stunning beauty. Her gown looks to be made of a sheer lace.. over a shimmery fabric.. her shoulders chest and arms are all henna tattooed with I’m assuming the sigils of Helena’s coven. Her hair is braided in two in the front.. tied into a larger braid, hanging down her back. Flowers and beads adorn her head.. the beads clinking together in soft sounds. And she is the most gorgeous creature in this, or any other universe! Thank you, Goddess! I am a lucky man!

I reach my hand out for her to take and Blake looks me dead in the eye “I ain’t saying shit! YOU already know!” I nodded and swallowed a little harder than I planned. Yeah! I already know!

Loren performed the same ceremony as he had for Alexander and Ella. When Bella repeated her oath, we clasped our sliced palms together..linking her to her new pack. I lifted her into my arms, and she wrapped her legs around my waist. I whispered “you sink your teeth into me first. Mine are larger and I want to cause you the least amount of pain as possible.”

Brutus and Angelica came forward and all four of us marked at the same time. Then, she gasped as her sigil marked her left shoulder blade, at the time it marked into my right pectoral. Well. That wasn’t covered in the manual! What the fuck?!

Helena gasped out “That has never happened before! Her sigil transferred to you simultaneously! Olivia.. come with me.. we have to figure out what this means..” and just as she finished speaking.. Selene and Hecate both landed on the dais, beside us.. Selene touched my shoulder and Bella’s head “My children.. by now, you know you are my chosen one. Many years from now, when your human body is tired and old.. after you have watched your children and grandchildren grow, my time will end. Yours will begin.. you will be the next Moon Goddess..and your mate will be with you, throughout eternity.”

Hecate stepped forward “The sigil symbolizes your craft. It is unique to the pair of you. Bella, your full powers will awaken by dawn.. Kendrick, you have been gifted with the power of healing.. your stength and power will increase. It will be a learning curve for you both.”

Loren asked if there was anything we should know about Bella’s power and both Goddesses laughed. That can’t bode well! Hecate tells us “Have her practice in a field with plenty of open space.” Bella says “Hey! I control the power I have now just fine. A few adjustments and this new stuff will fall into place!”

Alexander leans over and says “See? She already knows Ev-Er-Y-Thing!”
