Onyx POV

The psychos sleep in the tiny house built for them by the construction for the interrogation room. They always seemed to love the idea of getting to hear, smell and possibly help the torture of our enemies along with Knox’s.

The past few days has been busy.

We held a pack meeting for the first time and things have gone smoothly.

Especially when we gave the thought of have Esmeralda, Amos and Zhaire be our betas.

The pack accepted the idea even if the three of them threw a hissy fit over being blindsided.

Accepting the wolves from the mountain and the moon pack into the pack and Griffone helping us learn how to handle the finances of the pack along with how to invest and make better financial decisions.

Sighing I step away from the numbers on the screen and creep into Demon’s mind. Causing my heart to swell at the three of them playing instead of Demon putting them to bed.

The boys are finally acting like their age and having fun instead of worrying and looking over their shoulders. Demon’s deep laugh soothes me even more. Seeing the peace on his face is everything I could ever want.

Esmeralda’s scent nears the door before the knock sounded the room

I sigh softly, I’ll leave them be for now, “Come in, Esmeralda”

Bowing she sits in the seat, “Good evening, Chieftain there is some news on movements of the slave pack.”

“Alright”

“It seems like they made a deal with the Night, Elite, and Blood packs after finding out that we killed their ally. It seems that they agreed to give them slave in exchange for protection next month based on the pattern that we have attacked previously before.”

I nod leaning back into my chair, “and this was from you scrying?”

“Yes chieftain”

Esmeralda’s eyes seem to be bright, and she looks to be clean, but her body was starting to give her away as she was soon getting comfortable in her seat.

Eyes fighting to stay awake, head nodding off, slight slouch in her posture.

I shake my head at the stubborn woman, “Good work but from what you have told me scrying takes a lot of energy and causes mental strain. So now I want you to get some rest. We need you fully rested when we attack the Slave pack tomorrow.”

“Yes Chieftain”

Following her out the office, I blow out my lavender scented candle. Will need to get more of those amora scented ones since it worked so well. I watch her go into the room assigned to her.

Now to be the bad guy and have the boys get ready for bed as I hear their giggles from down the hall.

Mika’s thoughts entered mine, “will the psychos be joining us for the Slave pack?”

“That would be up to them. But I think they would have to wait until we can verify that the enemy doesn’t have anything that can kill or hurt them. They won’t accept any help, so we need to take another approach on that.”

I call through the mind link as the door to the boys’ room opens, “Star, I need you and some other to gather information on the Slave, Elite, Blood, and the Night Pack”.

The overly dramatic snores of the three of them laying on the floor sounds through the room.

As you wish Chieftain. How many will I be allowed to take with me?

I will leave that up to you. Just make sure that the mission gets done and everyone comes back alive.

Leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed I wait for one of them to give in or fall asleep.

After five minutes their snore sound like the natural bear snores from them.

Picking up Alex, I set him on his messy bed covering him with his blanket before I do the same with Micky on his clean bed.

Out the hallway closet I grab an extra blanket and lay next Demon making sure to cover him as well.

Mika’s smirk pops in my head, “You know they would probably love it if you were to use their chest as a pillow and curl into a ball on his side”

The blush came instantly as I turn my back to Demon trying to get comfortable on the carpet, “Please shut up Mika.”

Her laughter and the snores lured me into a peaceful sleep.

Next morning the boys made a mess throughout the pack house trying to bring us breakfast. The others thought it was sweet and had cleaned up everything from the door frame to the kitchen.

The day flew by as the excitement grew in the air. Just the thought of getting to fight or destroy sent a thrill through the pack.

We surround the Slave pack meeting the four that Star left here. Confirming that they don’t have any weapons long distance they could use on us.

Tonight, will go as we planned, and we will be one step closer to our eternal peace.
