Unknown Darkness (2)
Chapter 18.1

I trained at the academy with Brock and Wolf. Sometimes with some other warriors as well and different situations. It was tiring some nights I would fall onto bed and be out while Wolf would lay next to me and hold me. At times Wolf sometimes wasn’t with me because he was helping with operations on finding Junior. I accepted that, but still wanted to help in the case of finding him which Wolf did push me away from it.

One time he even urged me to stay home, to take some rest as my body still needed healing. I did protest but Emily came through the door just at the right moment and was able to help Wolf convince to stay home.

We had positioned ourselves in the kitchen with hot tea, sitting by the window watching the occasional street traffic down below. The afternoon sun beat down on these street radiating a warmth through window. It gave me sense that spring arrived long ago and was preparing us for the summer.

“Have you heard anything from your parents about Damon” I asked taking a sip from my tea, watching her seeing what her body language was going to tell me.

Her body did not stiffen rather she was relax, as if she prepared for this question and knew exactly how to answer it.

“He not really being questioned, just matter of placing him in his prison cell as a apartment, they go over what he has told and what witness can verify that he wasn’t a threat to me.”

I swallowed, “Why would they think he is a threat to you?”

Her gaze met mine, “because he is not a royal and his allies are question to know if he was paid or anything to get close to me....”

“That doesn’t make sense, why think the worse,” I shifted my elbow onto the table resting my chin my fist.

Emily smirked at my comment, as I was naive to the answer. “Asema, third royal family, powerful...but not many people actually like us... only few children like me are actually liked because what we have done for our people.”

I replied a silent ‘oh’ understanding now. “There are rebels amongst your kingdom, and security reasons you can’t be with commoners because they be rebel and threaten your own safety.”

She nodded to response.

“But wait, Sky High. couldn’t rebels gotten you there as some immortals parents could’ve been rebels.”

She smirked again, probably getting amusement out of this. A loud shuttle came from outside from the streets. We looked and just some people going about their day.

“Sky High was almost protection for Royals. If you so much do any physical harm that is not from combat tactics class you would be in trouble.”

I pursued my lips together humming in understanding.

“The rules and laws of this world I will never understand.” I smiled.

She leaned forward, “Don’t worry you still have much to learn... beside that is not really your focus as is finding your son your main focus.”

I wrapped my arms around myself and brought my attention to the outside as the tea did not warm me anymore. Times like those I felt hopeless but I trusted Wolf and his operation. Thing is only if I could see it maybe that would make the difference on how I felt.

“Yeah, it’s just I want to learn in a way to help me understand how I can help. Right now, I feel like I am just sitting on my butt, not literally” as I quickly motion to us sitting at the table with now mugs of cool bits of liquid.

She motioned at me, “I get what you were saying” she laughed a little.

I smiled and continued, “I want to do something, and maybe that might help hold my son sooner than later.

“Is there anything that can distract you, as in is training good? Or something else?” Emily asked hoping it may help with my dilemma.

“Training does help, but people keep saying that there is a light that radiates off me or something, somehow it helped keep this darkness away from me.” I shook my head and leaned back in the chair staring back outside catching a glimpse of anything.

“Well, there is some sort of light that does radiate off you, but I can’t explain it. It almost goodness that make me feel hopeful” Emily replied, but quickly added, “I am sorry if that is not what you wanted to hear.”

I give her a gentle smile staring back at her eyes which I noticed had a silver tint. I am not sure how I didn’t notice that before but shrugged it off. Probably from the buildings outside reflecting in.

“It okay honestly, I am just trying to understand what it means” as I my mind drifts back to Kieran words, was I truly some light of source or was those words of manipulation.

“Kieran manipulate a lot doesn’t he” I asked randomly.

Emily freezes but slowly nods, “Only a master would know he if tells the truth or not twisting truth. Only unless he wants you to know something.”

I didn’t reply but, started another random conversation with Emily about now life in general. Even though my mind was not truly with her, I kept thinking about that night where Kieran gave me his life story and gave the history lesson of us. I felt I needed to asked questions or look at books for answers instead.
