“Please, Elias- Fuck!” Sylvie screamed embarrassingly loud as Elias fucked her into oblivion.

He’d moved her to the swing at some point she couldn’t remember, and her weightless body trembled under his pounding. Every stroke stretched and filled her; the wetness from countless orgasms dripped on the floor and all over her lower half.

“Scream for me, Kitten.”

And she did over and over until her skin glistened in sweat.

“That’s my good girl.”

A laugh mixed with a groan passed her lips, and Elias’s hand curled around her head, tugging on her hair and forcing her to look at him.

“Harder, sir, harder.”

He growled so sensually she swore she’d come again right then, his pace not only quickening but deepening too. Any deeper, and she thought she’d explode.

Her feet fell to the floor as he unbuckled her, and he lifted her into his arms, fucking her upright, with his hands controlling her body with a careful placement under her ass.

Just when she thought she would have to use her safeword, he squeezed her against him and came hard. His muscles tensed and twitched beneath her body. She giggled with delight as he kissed her lips with a bruising fierceness.

“I love you,” she sighed.

He hummed as he lifted her off his cock and held her in his arms like his bride. “I love you, Kitten.”

A distant howl drew their attention, and Elias worked his jaw as Sylvie looked at him questioningly.

“I’m not ready to give you up yet.”

She smiled and nuzzled her nose into his neck. “That’s not fair, Mr Fletcher. Kian stayed within his time limit.”

“Kian got you first,” he grumbled, lowering her to the ground. She swayed on wobbly legs and chuckled softly before padding to the door.

“Where the fuck do you think you’re going. Did I say I was done with you yet?”

She spun with a half grin- half frown as her hands flew up.

“What? I have to go!”

Another howl sounded out, proving her point, and she laughed huskily as he scooped her up one last time to kiss her senselessly.

When he finally put her down and placed his shirt over her shoulders, minutes of Rowan’s rapidly sad-sounding howls had surrounded them.

“I have to go,” Sylvie whispered, taking his hand and kissing his palm.

“I know.”

With that, she left the sexy shed, threading her arms through the shirt and buttoning the bottom buttons until just her cleavage showed.

She felt Elias’ eyes on her back, or perhaps her ass, watching her go into the darkness.

She closed her eyes, waiting for the next howl, and when it came, she ran to it.

To him. To her beast.

Her mate.

The forest lit up before her eyes without any focus, and she smiled, seeing a dark animal shape pawing around her.

Prowling.

The tingling of her mate marks and the writhing of the animal’s body as it shifted to a man only made her smile wider.

“I see you.”

“And I see you,” the voice mingled with beast made her run faster towards it. Towards him until they collided, a flurry of limbs, heat, and lust.

“Rowan.”

“Sylvie.”

He held her tenderly as he spun and wadded her deeper into the woods.

“Where are you taking me?”

“Are you tired?” he asked, ignoring her question altogether.

“A little.” Her body ached, and her eyes drooped, but she could still be with him. She wasn’t finished yet.

“Well then,” he said, increasing his pace. “We’re heading somewhere to wake you up.”

She didn’t ask any more questions as her fatigue and the steady rocking in Rowan’s arms lulled her asleep.

“We’re here.”

Sylvie’s heart thundered in her chest as cold wetness climbed around her feet. The second her senses returned, she realised the sloshing sounds were Rowan wadding into a body of water, and the coldness was its depths reaching out to claim her.

“No, Rowan! No!”

His chuckle warmed her as he dunked them both under the tepid liquid. The scream she planned to release hovered on her lips, and she looked confusedly at Rowan.

“It’s warm.”

“I thought you might say that.”

“Why? This is the lake, right? What’s happening to me?”

“It’s the bond. It’s growing. Making us stronger. Better.”

“Why?”

He shrugged, spinning her in the water and eyeing her hard nipples through the soaked dress shirt.

“The way of the Fates.”

He lifted her onto his cock, and she winced as it pushed inside, still tender from Elias’ pounding. This time though, his tentative movements calmed and soothed her from the inside out.

Silky, smooth strokes with only a gentle splash of their bodies uniting beneath the surface.

“I missed you,” he whispered into her hair.

“Oh yeah? What did you miss?”

He sighed as his hips rocked into hers. “Oh, this, I think. Your hair, your skin.” He kissed along her jaw to her neck and hummed. “Your scent.”

“Oh really?”

“Your smart mouth.” He grinned as he said it, kissing her lips half a dozen times. “Everything.”

She smiled, writhing her hips as he adored every inch of her.

“Well, I missed you too.”

“Oh, I know. That dream of yours just about killed me.”

She burned and hid her embarrassment in his chest as he grabbed her shoulders and pulled her back to meet her eyes. “Don’t hide away, that was the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen, and the fact I couldn’t have you right then made me ache so bad I couldn’t function.”

As he plunged into her with a depth that touched her furthest walls, she cried out, letting her body fall back into the warm waters. Rowan’s hands cradled her back, keeping her head above water as he grunted and came inside her. The soaked fabric of Elias’ shirt clung to her every curve and billowed beneath her making her body feel heavier. She would sink if only Rowan let her.

“I’ve got you, Sylvie,” he said.

“Can you read my mind?”

He chuckled. “No. But it’s easy to read your face.”

Lowering her into the water and lifting her off him, he adjusted his hands beneath her lower back and head so she remained floating.

“Lift your hips... That’s it. And look up at the sky- not at your toes. Tilt your chin up. Ears in the water. And breathe.”

She bit back a smile, trying to breathe evenly through her nose as the pressure of his hands under her body lifted. She sunk only a fraction before his touch returned.

“Breathe, Sylvie. I won’t let you go under.”

When she dipped again from laughing, he joined her with a full laugh of his own.

“Well, not for long,” he amended.

Under the moon’s light, he held her, corrected her, and kissed her every time she failed until floating didn’t seem all that hard. Then he took her out deeper and taught her to breathe, sink to the bottom and push off until she no longer feared the absence of stone beneath her feet.

“Push up your hips, Sylvie. Come on. You’ve got this!”

She giggled and spat the water that entered her mouth before going through the motions again, lifting her hips and relaxing into the lake’s embrace. It was peaceful.

“You did it,” he hummed beside her, treading water. “I didn’t even help you that time.”

“I did it,” she grinned, closing her eyes and stretching her arms out beside her. Her fingertips brushed Rowan’s chest, and she bit her lip. He was so warm, like a fire turned human.

“What do you say, we get out of here and go for round two?”

He chuckled beside her and took her hand, towing her back to dry land. “I’d say that sounds perfect, but I’m about to get castrated by your husbands.”

“What?” she laughed, grasping his hand in hers. “Why?”

“We went over time... And I wasn’t exactly supposed to leave the wards.”

She scoffed and squeezed him. “Well, let’s get back, then.”

They ran, hand in hand, chatting and laughing until her belly ached, and he scooped her up in his safe arms.

“I love you, Rowan.”

He smiled, his face lighting up the world around her. Nothing was more perfect at that moment than that smile. How far they’d come. She couldn’t even fathom the time passed as she fell again into a delicious sleep in his arms.

“I love you, Sylvie.”

“It’s been two days!”

“Thirty-six hours. It’s fine.”

“Is she, though?”

“Yes. Would you relax-”

“Yes, calm down. Your anxiety is irritating.”

“Well, forgive me for showing concern-”

“Fates, Rowan. Shut up before you wake her-”

“You shut up. You’re probably the reason she needs so much rest.”

Sylvie groaned and rolled onto her belly, rubbing her eyes into the pillows. “What are you all whining about now?” she mumbled into the pillow.

“You’re awake,” Rowan said with noticeable relief, his hand stroking her back lightly. She suddenly became aware of her nakedness beneath the bed sheets and the crunchy feeling of her hair scratching her cheeks.

“Yes, she is, thanks to you-”

“Elias,” she admonished, sitting up and blinking at him. “Don’t be mean.”

He buried a smirk. “I can show you mean,” he said, tapping his belt.

She scrunched her nose, barely remembering not to poke out her tongue when Kian appeared in her vision.

“How are you?”

She shrugged. “In need of a shower, I think.”

He smiled and rolled his eyes at her. “Nothing else?”

“Nope. I’m good.”

“Good, then get ready. We have a few things to organise before we head back to Argyncia.”

She smiled and stretched her arms overhead, letting the sheets fall and pool around her waist. Rowan hummed, Elias’ eyes flickered red, and Kian just smirked.

“What?” she asked with mock innocence, standing and sashaying to the bathroom. She bit her lip to stop her laugh as their eyes trailed after her. God, she loved those men even if they were as subtle as a rock through a windowpane.

She met them outside on the lawn, surrounded by shifters and looked for the Vampires. Shan and Brodi stood huddled under a large tree, but she couldn’t see Mila anywhere. A flash of guilt filled her as she realised her selfishness the night before, all cosy with her mates while the Vampires who saved her fought for their lives.

They smiled and nodded at her as Kian’s hand taking hers eased some of her fears. “They don’t blame you,” he murmured in her ear. She sighed and flicked her eyes over to him before nodding.

There was no point wallowing now. She eyed the shifters next, and her brows rose.

Despite their history, the shifters didn’t seem uneasy with the Vampires’ presence, offering her warm smiles and head nods as she settled into Rowan’s arms. Elias stood off to the side, but she couldn’t help but notice his pale form standing directly in the blinding sunlight.

Well then. That was interesting.

All her mates seemed to have some new talents; maybe she did too. She’d have to look into it.

“So,” she said, tilting her head and blinking at Rowan. “What’s the plan?”
