Greta had more questions, but Neil spoke before her. “Let’s head to the car, shall we?”

The crowd nodded and piled into the car.

As they drove to the hospital, Neil explained, “Lia, Ty, your father is at the hospital too. Remember your

Liora expressed her sadness, saying, “I know I can’t talk to him.”

Neil was still concerned, asking. “He already knows I’m your uncle. What will you say if he asks if

Liora overcame her initial shock and joined him by the bed. “Mommy looks really hurt,” she said, tears

Evan’s heart ached as the children looked so sad. He put down his document, ready to comfort them,

but Neil reassured them first, “Don’t be sad. She’s out of critical condition now and on the road to

recovery.
