Chapter 487 Don't Think Too Much

Natalia stared blankly into space for a while before suddenly bursting into tears. Everyone was confused. "Wasn't the surgery successful? Why is she crying?" they all wondered.

But soon, Natalia started laughing. "I knew Dr. Walter would succeed! I just knew it!"

She was extremely glad for her decision and for insisting on trusting Jenny. Otherwise, things wouldn't have turned out so well.

"Miss, my grandfather..."

"He's been taken to the intensive care unit. We'll have to wait and see how he recovers in the coming days." The postoperative period was the most dangerous time, and no one could be sure that complications wouldn't arise.

Natalia nodded and thanked the nurse. While everyone went to the ICU to see her grandfather, she stayed behind. Soon, Jenny came out of the operating room, and Natalia approached her. Jenny was a little surprised seeing her there. "Didn't the nurse tell you?

Your grandfather has been transferred to the ICU. Why aren't you making your way there to see him?"

"I know." Natalia looked at Jenny sincerely. "I just wanted to thank you personally."

Jenny laughed. "Looking at how surprised you are, I kind of suspect you didn't really have any hope for me since the beginning."

Natalia was embarrassed and couldn't admit that she had indeed doubted Jenny's abilities.

"If you never had any hope in me, why did you approach me in the first place?" Jenny asked, puzzled by her behavior.

Natalia thought for a long time before answering, "Maybe...I just wanted to convince myself that I tried my best. I didn't want to feel guilty if my grandpa passed away."

"You should go see him. Don't think too much." Jenny patted her shoulder and smiled at her.

Her smile made Natalia feel a little dazed. She used to not understand why Alec liked Jenny so much. In terms of appearance, she didn't think she was any worse than Jenny. In terms of family background, she was far superior compared to her by a hundredfold.

Now, she understood. Jenny was simply Jenny-unique and captivating.

Natalia thanked her again and then hurried off to see Larry without dawdling on their conversation. After she left, Jenny prepared to leave the hospital. She was quite tired from the surgery, as working with doctors she was unfamiliar with required a lot of effort. There was hardly any time for her to relax during the surgery.

However, just as she took a few steps, someone quickly caught up with her and called, "Jenny."

Hearing the voice, Jenny instinctively turned her head and was surprised to see Derrick. "Aren't you supposed to be in Parrington, Derrick?"

"I just came back to Bardoff City yesterday," he replied.

He had originally planned to take a few more days off to stay in Parrington before returning to Bardoff City so that he could get to know Jenny better and make her fall in love with him. He didn't expect she would appear in Bardoff City. Not only did she come to the city where he lived, but she also came to the hospital where he worked.

Jenny casually nodded and said, "You go ahead and do what you need to do. I'm leaving now." She was tired and didn't want to continue making small talk with Derrick, especially since she wasn't interested in him.

Derrick, however, didn't plan to give up. He followed her and asked, uncertainty lacing his tone, "Did you perform the surgery on Larry Cruz?'

Jenny affirmed dismissively and didn't know why Derrick was so concerned about the surgery. Little did she know, since she'd successfully saved Larry's life, she hadn't only made the Cruzes immensely grateful to her, but she had also gotten everybody in Bardoff Hospital talking about her. Everyone was curious about her.

If Derrick made it known to everybody they were acquaintances, he could imagine how envious other people would be upon seeing them walking together.
