Chapter 23 Fiasco 

‘He and his mistress got struck by lightning, and the whole city saw them completely naked. He’s too embarrassed to return. Now, the entire city is on the lookout for him. Unfortunately, he shielded his face when he fled, so no one caught a glimpse of him. 

Zhang Ling furrowed her brow tightly, sensing her daughter’s innocence tainted.

“The girl didn’t fall into the water intentionally, and she hid out of fear. Taojian’s fate is sealed; should we start a feud with our peers over this? My love, I’m facing difficulties in the palace. You should consider my situation too.” 

After their marriage, Zhang Ling felt neglected by Yang Mingrui, so she often pushed Yang Taojian to study. 

Taojian, at a young age, felt sorry for his mother, so he studied late into the night with red eyes just to make his father proud.
