Chapter 70 A Drama Unfolding 

After swiftly finalizing the deadline and payment details with Elizabeth on the website, ShadowCipher delved straight into the depths of the Internet. This kind of task was a breeze for him, especially since Elizabeth had provided an abundance of information. It made it remarkably easy for him to uncover all the specifics regarding the fire that occurred years ago. 

However, as ShadowCipher cross–referenced the data and verified the identities of the individuals involved, he was suddenly taken aback. The names and ages of the two children who managed to escape the fire, along with some details about their later whereabouts, caused his expression to stiffen. He vigorously rubbed his eyes to ensure he wasn’t hallucinating, and then meticulously organized the raw data before clicking “send.” 

ShadowCipher possessed an inexplicable intuition, yet he couldn’t be entirely certain about the truth of the matter. Hence, he chose to compile the information and send it to Gwyneth. He appended a note at the end of the email, stating. [You might want to look into this.] 

Meanwhile, Gwyneth indulged in a much–needed nap in the lounge at Glen Corporation. During her tenure at the AMC office, she had been relentlessly occupied, leaving her with no time for rest. However, now, at Glen Corporation, she could finally compensate for all those sleep 

-deprived days. 

Gwyneth’s phone rested beside her, and a notification sound roused her from her slumber. She groggily checked her email and was taken aback by ShadowCipher’s message. Hastily, she rose from the lounge and made her way to her desk. Settling into her chair, Gwyneth 

opened the email on her computer and carefully perused its contents, feeling surprised. 

Of course, Gwyneth hadn’t forgotten the incident from her childhood, where she had saved someone’s life. The scar on her waist served as a constant reminder. However, as she furrowed her brow, she noticed that ShadowCipher had included photographs. She opened the first one, it was the boy she had saved that time. As she proceeded to the next, her hand trembled, nearly causing her to fling the mouse 

across the desk in startlement. 

“Liam?!” The thought that the boy she had saved turned out to be him made Gwyneth feel as if the world were somehow too small. 

She gritted her teeth and murmured. “I did a good deed by saving him. So why can’t he let me go? Isn’t that repaying kindness with 

revenge?” 

Gwyneth reviewed the information once more, and her heart became overwhelmed with an inexplicable blend of emotions. 

At that moment, her computer chimed with yet another notification, signaling a message from ShadowCipher. [I’m aware that Liam Luther is also investigating this matter. Please exercise caution. Your safety is of utmost importance.] 

A faint smile tugged at Gwyneth’s lips as she read those words. She swiftly responded with a reassuring message to ShadowCipher and 

then logged off. 

The office fell into a hush, and Gwyneth closed her eyes, feigning rest, while her mind delved into contemplation. After some time, she abruptly opened her eyes and summoned Wanda into her office. “Wanda, I need to step out for some business. If anyone asks about my whereabouts, tell them that I went home due to feeling unwell.” 

Seeing Wanda’s obedient nod, Gwyneth chuckled and affectionately patted her cheek before departing from the office. As she exited Glen Corporation, she drove directly to AMC. When she pushed open the office door, Wesley’s eyes widened, causing him to teeter precariously 

on his chair. 

*Boss, why are you back all of a sudden? Did your conscience kick in, and you couldn’t bear to leave me alone here?” Wesley seemed on the verge of throwing a tantrum. 

Gwyneth didn’t spare Wesley a single glance. She strode past him, headed to a drawer in the office, retrieved a folder, and then turned to 

leave. 

“Boss! Where are you going?” Wesley called out from behind, his face filled with concern. However, the moment Gwyneth shot him a piercing glare, he promptly sealed his lips, understanding her unspoken warning. 

Back in her car, Gwyneth pulled out the contents of the folder and pursed her lips. It was a project collaboration between AMC and Glen Corporation, and the contract was about to expire. A glimmer flickered in her eyes as she placed the folder back on the passenger seat. stepped on the gas, and headed to Luther Corporation. Little did she know that a drama was unfolding in the CEO’s office at Luther Corporation at that very moment. 

After Elizabeth noticed a change in Liam’s attitude toward her, she realized that her subtle attempts were no longer effective. She agonized over the situation for a while, contemplating her next course of action. Eventually, she resolved that a more proactive approach 

was necessary. Standing in the CEO’s office, her anxiety mounting, Elizabeth caught the sound of Liam’s footsteps drawing closer. With each passing moment, her nerves grew increasingly taut. 

Calculating the timing meticulously, just as she saw Liam push open the door, Elizabeth swiftly tilted her body and crumpled into his arms. “Ah…” she exclaimed, feigning vulnerability. 

Taken aback by this sudden action, Liam instinctively embraced her. Upon recognizing that it was Elizabeth, he felt a sense of displeasure. 

“What are you doing?” 

“I–I was organizing some files in the cabinet behind the door, and when you pushed it open…” Her heart fluttered with delight, even in the 

midst of this charade.
