Chapter 67 Let’s Call It a Day 

“Rest assured, I’m not just talking. You will all see the contract in black and white,” Gwyneth’s final words provided a sense of comfort to the group, eliciting a collective sigh of relief. The initial round of negotiations had yielded a mutually agreeable outcome for both parties. Meanwhile, outside, darkness had enveloped the sky. Gwyneth had no intention of staying long, so she left with Wanda. 

Upon returning to their hotel, the weary duo encountered the marketing department members near the entrance, engaged in an unknown discussion. One of them spotted Wanda and immediately exhaled audibly. 

“Oh my goodness, Ms. Lewis, you’re alright! You had us so worried.” 

Upon hearing those words, the others also breathed a sigh of relief, each expressing their own sense of alleviation. 

Gwyneth glanced at the empty wine bottles behind the group, concealing her disdain. ‘These people didn’t genuinely make an effort to find Wanda. They were just going through the motions. I bet if she had returned alone tonight, all they would’ve done was just calling the 

police.‘ 

Following the intense negotiation, Wanda’s perception of Gwyneth had undergone a complete transformation, and her view of the Glen Corporation shareholders and employees had shifted as well. ‘It’s clear that Ms. Glen maintains a facade with these people. Both sides are not truly aligned.‘ 

“You’ve all worked hard today, so take some rest. Tomorrow, once we’ve made the necessary adjustments, we’ll go back” Gwyneth spoke softly, gripping Wanda’s arm as they made their way toward the hotel entrance. 

In that moment, the individuals who had been secretly spying on Gwyneth for Gaspard’s party finally realized the true purpose of their surveillance. They hurriedly caught up and asked, “Ms. Glen, is the matter concerning Glacier Lake now resolved? What are your plans?” 

Perhaps due to Gwyneth’s exhaustion from the past few days, or perhaps she sensed the insincerity of these individuals, she had no desire to continue putting on a show for them. She came to a halt, fixing a cold stare upon them. “As the CEO, am I obligated to report 

every decision I make to all of you?” 

Gwyneth’s sudden change in demeanor left everyone stunned and speechless. They stood there, mouths agape, unable to utter a word. Gwyneth, on the other hand, paid no attention to them. She walked straight into the elevator, with Wanda hastily following behind her. 

The following day, everyone made their way back to Glen Corporation. 

As Gwyneth arrived, the shareholders led by Gaspard were already there waiting for her. She couldn’t help but think, ‘Aren’t they an impatient bunch.‘ 

Maintaining her composed expression, Gwyneth directed Wanda to arrange a meeting. She knew precisely what these individuals wanted to discuss, so to expedite matters, she decided to comply. 

Ten minutes later, in Glen Corporation’s conference room, Gwyneth took her seat, her fatigue evident. 

Before the shareholders could speak, Gwyneth took the initiative. “I’m fully aware of the reason for your presence here, and I don’t wish to keep you waiting, so…” She glanced at their tense yet hopeful expressions, feeling repulsed. “I have agreed to proceed with the investment in the Glacier Lake tourism project as previously proposed.” 

“Really?” 

‘They’re certainly an impatient bunch,‘ Gwyneth thought to herself, resting her cheek on her fingers, a tinge of doubt creeping in. “How exactly did these people become directors of Glen Corporation?” 

Gwyneth responded. “Of course. Can I joke about something as important as this?” She cast a glance at Wanda, who understood and 

displayed a concise proposal on the projector. 

“This project has garnered significant attention, so we will proceed with a bidding process,” Wanda explained softly, trying her best to 

suppress any nervousness. 

Taking over from her secretary, Gwyneth continued, “I will allocate Glen Corporation’s funds to participate in the bidding for this project. You can all have peace of mind.” 

With the conversation reaching this point, Gwyneth felt she had addressed all the necessary points. At that moment, all she desired was a restful night’s sleep. As expected, the shareholders led by Gaspard wore excited smiles. 

“Ms. Glen is truly efficient, wrapping things up within just two days of the business trip.” 

“Yes, if we secure this project, Glen Corporation will once again enjoy substantial profits.” 

During that moment. Gwyneth’s gaze directly met Gaspard’s. The father and daughter locked eyes briefly, but within a span of two seconds, Gaspard was the first to avert his gaze. Gwyneth couldn’t help but feel a sense of contempt, thinking, ‘Hmph, such weak mental

Gwyneth lightly tapped the table and then rose to her feet, placing her hands on the tabletop. “If there are no further inquiries, we can adjourn the meeting.” Without awaiting a response from the others, she turned and made her exit. The thought of having to see these people in the company in the short term filled her with annoyance. 

Wanda, who followed Gwyneth back to the office, was angry. “Ms. Glen, what should we do next?” 

Even Wanda could discern that these shareholders were merely awaiting Gwyneth’s downfall. However, to her surprise, Gwyneth turned around and smiled at Wanda. “Let’s call it a day. Head home, rest, and get some sleep.“
