After giving Marwell all the vital energy crystals that he had stolen from the Wei can's mines, Austin chose another path and went back to the Wei clan's mine area.

Marwell retreated with his group after Austin departed.

"Where are we going, our mines or the Stone City?"

Michelle inquired.

"We have to find a place to hide for three days and wait for the steward of the Sky Sect to return, then we can go back home and turn in the vital energy crystals to him.

Everyone from the Wei clan was in a state of despair and anxiety. Sometime later under the guidance of the gnome, Austin arrived at the northeast corner. It was about five miles away from the Wei clan's mine area.

At the place where the gnome had mentioned, Austin saw large and lofty mountains and stone ridges with no vegetation. Everything on the ground including mud and stones was scarlet. There was no plant or living creatures here. A deathly stillness and an eerie silence engulfed the place. Anyone who came to that place instantly felt depressed.

He summoned Violet and gnome out.

The rock broke into tiny pieces immediately and splashed in all directions. A deserted mine where the rock had been, suddenly appeared. It was surrounded by overgrown weeds and infested with pests, snakes and insects.

Austin was slightly surprised to see the mysterious mine. He hadn't expected that there would be a mine on the summit of the mountain. If it weren't for the gnome, he might have missed this place.

"Violet work with the gnome. Ask what the gnome has sensed. It seems that this is just a common mine which has been abandoned for a long while. I figure that there is no vital energy crystal left inside,”

Austin said to Violet.

"The gnome has detected something which is giving off a special aura. But it isn't sure whether it is precious natural resource.”

Violet replied.

Austin pondered for a while. "Now that I am there, I may as well figure out what is inside the abandoned mine.’

He drifted down into the mine quietly, calculating the depth of the mine. It turned out that the mine was over seven hundred meters deep. When he reached the bottom, he saw a path to the mine.

The mine was dark and damp, and the air was stifling and quiet. Austin speculated that the mine must have existed for many years

He moved forward gently while unleashing his spiritual sense to see what was ahead of him.

Its claws were as sharp as a knife with a ferocious look in its eyes. It went straight and attempted to break Austin's neck with its claws, meanwhile; it was making some kind of weird buzzing sound which affected people's eardrums.

Austin activated his vital energy, and then a sword of vital energy appeared over his palm. The flames around the sword illuminated the dark mine, and the sword dashed towards its claws.

"Clang!"

The blade collided with the claws. The blade was as hard as gold and stone; the collision produced sparks everywhere.

The next moment, the creature's claws were hurt by the vital energy sword and a dark green liquid gushed out from its claws.
