He knew this very well. 

Their relationship was clear from the beginning. 

After hanging up, Alexandra put down her phone and looked up at Julian. “Mr. Ranford, what did you just say?” 

“It’s nothing. Rest early. I’ll go to the study to deal with some work.” 

“All right.” Alexandra nodded. 

Julian still wanted to say something, but the words were stuck in his throat. There was nothing he could say.

Martha clicked her tongue. “You’re really Alexandra’s best friend. It’s just that I didn’t expect you to be so good to Alexandra. You actually gave her to your brother’s business partner as a mistress! What an eye–opener!” 

“What nonsense are you talking about?” 

“You’ll find out soon enough whether I’m talking nonsense or not. A country girl like her can’t resist the temptation! As expected, how else could she afford a bag from Jolie Cepfer Mall? Looks like that man is quite generous to Alexandra!”
