Chapter 50 

Alexandra heard someone calling her and turned around. It was William Jolston! 

When she turned around, it took William a while to confirm that the slender girl in a dress with a ruffled collar before him was actually 

Alexandra 

Alexandra was also shocked when she saw William’s waiter uniform. He was one of the top students. Why was he working here as a waiter? 

Emery was also quite surprised. 

“Is it you? I thought I recognized the wrong person when I saw you just now.” William placed the tray behind him and stood upright. 

The smile on his boyish face was very charming. 

Alexandra stood up. Recalling Martha’s attitude toward William and his waiter uniform, she roughly figured that William’s family was not wealthy. 

He must have come out for a part–time job on the weekend. 

She replied, “I’m shopping here with Emery. What a coincidence to meet you here.”

Everyone knew that William Jolston, the top student in the Math Department, had a cold personality. He took the initiative to talk to Alexandra probably because he was interested in her. 

William also noticed Emery. He knew her family background. 

Hence, he nodded politely at her. 

Then he turned to Alexandra and said, “By the way, I asked the department head if he had recruited you into our department. Why did you go to the Piano Department? thought you would enter the Department of Mathematics and Science.” 

Alexandra smiled awkwardly and tilted her head. “I want to learn something easy,” she replied. 

“Well, playing the piano isn’t easy either.” 

While the two were chatting, Julian happened to see her talking enthusiastically with a man. 

She was even smiling at that person. 

Of course, Alexandra did not know that Julian had already noticed her. 

She chatted with William for a while and did not ask a word about why he was a waiter there. She was afraid that she would hurt this boy’s pride. 

However, William took the initiative to answer her doubt. “I’m free this weekend, and this cafe was hiring part–time workers for an opening ceremony. It pays 100 dollars an hour, so I signed up.” 

Alexandra replied carefully, fearing she would hurt his pride, “Oh, you’ve worked hard. You’re usually so busy with your studies, and you still have 

to…” 

Suddenly, an ear–piercing female voice sounded. “Yo! I was just expecting to see you here.” 

Hearing this, William’s face darkened instantly 

Turning around, Alexandra saw Martha in a light purple off–shoulder dress, holding a glass of red wine. 

She couldn’t help but roll her eyes and complain silently. “Why is it that some people just won’t go away? She’s everywhere!”

Martha looked at Alexandra and William as if she were looking at a couple caught in the act. She walked over arrogantly and said to William, “Hey! Why did the talented scholar William Jolston lower himself to serve tea in such a place?” 

William was neither servile nor overbearing. He straightened his back and said, “Miss Connelly, I earn money by serving the tea. I don’t think. there’s anything wrong with that.” 

Martha rolled her eyes at him and took a sip of red wine. She licked her lips and said to him, “Yes, you’ve chosen your path. If you don’t take a shortcut, you can only climb up yourself! Look at Alexandra. She climbed up a big tree like Ms. Walters. That’s why she was sitting here wearing branded clothes and eating snacks.” 

She mocked the three people present with several simple sentences. 

Alexandra was furious upon hearing this, but she clenched her fists and tried to persuade herself. Julian was here. I couldn’t cause trouble in 

front of him.” 

After taking a deep breath and holding it in, she smiled appropriately and sarcastically. “Miss Connolly, I realized you like getting someone’s attention. Why? Is there a stage drama for today’s ceremony? Do you want me to set up a stage for you to show off your acting skills?” 

Martha sneered and rolled her eyes. “If you want to watch me act, wait until I enter the entertainment industry! Now, you’re not worthy!” 

“Is that so? Miss Connolly, you must tell me which movie you are filming in advance, so I can avoid watching it.” 

Martha held a glass of red wine in one hand and walked around Alexandra and William. She jeered sarcastically, “A country girl and a country bumpkin. You are quite compatible.”

In the blink of an eye, Alexandra suddenly felt her left wrist and shoulder tighten simultaneously. Then, a warm figure completely enveloped her 

vision. 

She squeezed her eyes shut and felt herself enveloped in a familiar embrace. 

Immediately after, the surroundings were in an uproar. 

Her wrist was still field tightly by William, and she felt slightly uncomfortable. 

She would have fallen if not for a pair of strong arms hugging her. 

When she opened her eyes and looked up, she saw Julian’s gloomy face. Only then did she realize that they were hugging tightly. 

At the same time, her wrist was still being held by William. 

When Martha’s red wine splashed on her, William wanted to pull her away. 

Julian appeared out of nowhere and blocked the glass of wine with his tall body.

Alexandra smelled the red wine mixed with his perfume She struggled and got up from his arms 

Julian let go of her and glanced at the hand of the man who was pulling her 

He looked up and met William’s gaze. 

After a while, he looked away and turned around. 

William did not expect someone to appear suddenly. This man had a strong aura Although he did not say a word, he glanced at him as if nothing had happened William felt his scalp tingle. 

He paused for a second and let go of Alexandra. 

Julian’s back was already soaked with red wine. He stared at the dumbfounded Martha as he took off his suit jacket and threw it to the waiter, who rushed over. 

At this moment, Carson had also rushed over. He was startled to see the hero saving the beauty in front of him. 

However, he quickly shifted her gaze to Martha, who was always looking for trouble. 

Martha suddenly became the target of public criticism. The white cream stuck to her collar and neck. She also had the wine glass dripping with 

wine in her hand.
