The Magic of Hecate
Chapter 3 Chapter 3

Leo's Point of View

Two weeks ago,

"Daddy, Daddy, Daddy!" Cato squealed jumping on the bed. "Wake up!"

I opened my eyes, looked at the clock and groaned. I don't remember the last time I wasn't woken up before 6.

"Can I have a cuddle?" he asked crawling onto my back.

I sighed and lifted him off my back and into the air.

He screamed with delight as I threw him up and caught him again. "Come here, you little monkey!" I said hugging him tightly as he giggled.

I then looked beside me to Ella's side of the bed.

"Cato, where's Mommy?" I asked in a far more serious tone.

"Maybe she downstairs. Or running,” Cato replied.

But she never goes for a run without telling me first. Never.

I stood up with him still in my arms and made my way into the hall. "Ella?!" I called

No response.

"Ells!? Where are you?!" I called again.

Still no response.

I searched the library, kitchen, living room and all my children’s rooms but still no Ella.

"Cato, will you go and get my phone from Mommy and Daddy's room, please,” I said putting him on the floor.

He nodded and ran up the stairs as I went into my office. The second I entered I immediately spotted a single sheet of lined paper on my desk with Ella's beautiful handwriting on it. It looked rushed and was clearly written hastily but beautiful all the same.

I lifted it up, my heart rate all ready increasing, and began to read. I studied each individual word carefully and then, unable to believe what I was seeing, read the whole thing again.

"I got your telemaphone, Papa," a little voice said from the door. "Thank you, Cato," I said quietly staring at the plain wall, my Luna's words and realisation still sinking in.

"What's wrong, Dada?" he asked. "Where's Mama?"

"Don't worry, baby. Just go and play. Daddy has something very important to deal with," I replied and he vanished off back upstairs.

I dialled Blair's number and waited for him to answer.

"Good morning, Alpha-" he began.

"Ella's gone," I stated interrupting him

"What?"

"My Luna is gone," I repeated.

"She's been taken?"

"No, she ran away. I don't know why and I don't know where to but I need to get her back immediately. Close off the borders entirely and send out a search party of as many men as we have available. She must be found before anyone malicious learns of her disappearance and has the chance to hurt her," I elaborated.

"Yes, Alpha," he replied before I hung up.

I then tried to call her mobile. Sixteen times. I left twelve voicemails and twenty-seven texts too.

The more time I spent without knowing any more, the sicker to the stomach I felt. Just the thought of never seeing my mate again brought on a lurching sensation deep inside. I couldn't sit here and do nothing any longer so I called my Mother to watch my children whilst I joined the search.

I don't care whether she wants to be found or not and I don't care how important her reason is. I am going to get her back no matter how long it takes.

Nobody has ever escaped me before and that isn't going to change. Not even for my Luna.
