The Hunting
Chapter 16

Kia woke up laying on a cold, hard concrete floor. The room was dark, only small slivers of light seeping in through the cracks in the walls and beneath the door. Her head hurt and her vision was blurry, she felt weak and realized she was unable to reach her wolf.

Lifting herself slowly off the ground, she stood up and took a look around. Trying to find a way out, so far the only way out she could see was the door, but it was locked and reinforced with silver, practically "escape-proof".

Great... Kia mumbled to herself, looking around the dark room again. Normally she could see just fine in the dark, but with Niri out of bounds, she had to squint to make anything out.

Kia heard footsteps echo through the hallway outside, the sound getting closer with every passing second. The lock of her door clicked and it creaked open, light flooding into the room, temporarily blinding her.

As her eyes adjusted Kia saw a figure step into the room, large built, power flowing from his pores. An Alpha.

"Finally awake, I see." Kia recognized his voice and looked up to find none other than Alpha Morris.

"Where am I?" Kia asked, holding her hand up against her head, feeling it throb underneath her fingers.

"Blood Moon." Morris said flatly.

"Why did you take me? What the hell do you want?" Kia snapped, glaring at him.

"Such a little spitfire... Don't worry, we'll fix that soon enough." Morris said, an evil smirk etched onto his face. "As for why? You'll soon find that out as well, but first..." he said as he walked into the room further, closing in on Kia. "I'd like you to meet someone."

After he said that a tall, muscular man walked into the room. He had the same steely blue eyes, same dark chocolate hair, same evil look on his face. He was unmistakably Alpha Morris' son, well one of them anyway.

"Hello Kia." the man said in a smooth, deep voice sending shivers down Kia's spine. And not the good kind. "I'm Thomas." he introduced.

Kia eyed him closely, trying to get a feel of him, but failing. He was closed off, his face emotionless, his demeanor calm and relaxed.

"So your son is here why?" Kia asked, turning her attention to Alpha Morris.

"Mmm smart too." Morris mocked, sharing a look with Thomas. "But not smart enough, I gather."

Kia slowly began putting two and two together, realizing that Alpha Morris wasn't one to get his hands dirty unnecessarily. Thomas was here to do that for him, he was here to hurt her. She shivered again, swallowing her fear and controlling her emotions. She wasn't going to show weakness, she wouldn't give them the satisfaction of breaking her.

"Very well, get on with it then." Kia said, steadying herself, bracing against what's to come.

Alpha Morris let out a loud laugh, his eyes traveling between Thomas and Kia.

"Oh, she's going to be a fun one." he said, smiling at his son. Thomas just nod his head, his gaze never leaving Kia.

"Thomas, you may start. I'll see you at lunch." Alpha Morris said as he walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.

Thomas just stood there, arms folded, gaze fluttering over every inch of Kia. After what felt like hours Kia couldn't take it anymore. "Dammit Thomas, didn't your father ever teach you not to leave a lady waiting." Kia snapped, lifting her hand to slap him. She wanted a reaction, she wanted to know what he was capable of so she could decide whether she would make it until they found her.

He grabbed her arm swifty, before it even had a chance to make contact with his skin and threw her backwards against the wall. The sheer force causing Kia to gasp for air.

He stalked over to her and lifted her up by her hair until she was no longer standing on the ground, but dangling in his grip.

"Don't test me..." he growled out, his eyes flashing black.

"Or what?" Kia snapped back. "You going to throw me around some more? Show off your strength by hurting a girl." Kia mocked.

"Shut up!" Thomas yelled as he sent her flying towards the back wall again.

Kia hit her head, blood streaming from her wound, dizziness clouding her mind.

"Enough brother. We wouldn't want to kill her on the first day." A voice said behind them. Kia turned around to see another young man enter the room, he looked much the same as Thomas, except he was a tad shorter and obviously leaner.

"Get out Darion." Thomas snapped as he walked over to Kia again. Kia scrambled to her feet, just in time to duck out of reach from Thomas' hands. She used the moments advantage she had and kicked him right in the face. The man was a boulder, hard and unmoving. He just stood there, barely flinching once her foot hit him. His eyes turned pitch black and she could hear Darion laughing behind him.

"This one's got some fight." Darion said, patting his brothers arm. "Calm down Thomas."

Kia stared at the two men, trying to decide who she was more afraid of. After a long while she decided it was Darion, Thomas was a brute, he liked to show his strength and left nothing in the shadows. Darion however was reserved, and Kia was sure he wasn't going to reveal all of his cards until she was seconds away from death.

"Kia, is it?" Darion asked.

"Yes." Kia sneered.

"I'd be nice to the man who just saved your life, if I were you." Darion chastised.

Kia let out a humorless laugh. "You saved my life so you could have more time to do some serious damage. I won't exactly say that's something to be grateful for, dumbass." Kia said.

Darion moved forward with lightning speed and had Kia pinned against the wall by her neck. "This, dumbass, is going to cause you a world of pain. Even more so considering your refusal to be respectful." he hissed at her, letting her go.

Kia stood up straight again, smoothing down her clothes before she gave the men in front of her a cold and blank stare." Do your worst. " she said, taking a calming breath.

"Oh,. we're planning on it, little one." Thomas snickered, walking over to her slowly.

Kia forced herself not to flinch under his threatening stare, but instead to meet his gaze head on. When Thomas reached her he ripped her shirt off with little to no effort on his part. Kia gasped and threw her hands up to cover herself. Her skin breaking out in goosebumps from the cold that was creeping up onto her.

Thomas smirked before he pushed her back against the wall, fumbling next to her with something that made a clinking sound against the wall. He grabbed one of her wrists and she felt something cold touch her skin, the burning sensation following soon after. She turned her head to see what he was doing, her resolve faltering for a second as her eyes landed on the silver chain around her wrist. Once he was done he did her other wrist as well, stepping away to admire his handy work.

Kia was now bare to their eyes, unable to cover herself from their lustfull stares as they examined her body. She still had her pajama shorts on, but she saw Darion smirk as his eyes fell on them and realized she wasn't going to have them for long.

He walked over slowly, grazing his hand over her shoulder and down to her stomach, before hooking the hem of her shorts with his finger. Kia heard a ripping sound and she saw that he had let his claws out and her shorts and underwear was now a tattered mess of the floor.

"That's better." Darion said, as he eyed her body appreciatively. "I think she's the prettiest one yet, don't you brother?" he asked.

Thomas just huffed. The two men stood there staring at Kia for a few more minutes before Darion calpped his hands together.

"We'll were off to lunch. See you tomorrow, little one." he said with a smirk as he left.

Thomas stared at her for a while longer before he too left, leaving Kia alone in the room, chained to the wall. Naked and cold. A shiver ran through Kia as the cold kept attacking her skin, she grit her teeth and told herself to suck it up.

"What do you mean you can't track the scent?" Clayton boomed out, making the tracker wince.

"The scent ends at the edge of the forest. We checked for miles in each direction, no luck. It just vanished." the tracker explained.

"A car." Alpha Henry said, making his presence known.

"What?" Clayton barked.

"They obviously went the rest of the way by car. That's the only way for a scent to disappear like that." he explained.

Clayton nod along to his explanation, the tracker seeming to relax a bit.

"That's all great, but how do you suppose we find her now?" Tobias snapped. His frustration showing all over his face.

"I don't know, Tobias." Henry said, thinking a while. "Have you seen your father today?" he asked.

"Yes, he left earlier this morning. Said something came up at home." Clayton replied.

"Curious." Henry said, rubbing his hand over his face.

"You don't think he did this, do you?" Clayton asked.

"The possibility it there Clayton, he did show an unusual interest in your daughter, even admitted as much. He could have kept an eye on you, to see when she'd be alone." Henry explained.

Tobias' face turned red, his eyes flashing between black and blue.

" I told you at least one of us should be with them." Tobias said as he slammed his palms into Clayton's chest, sending him staggering backwards. "And now.. She's gone and it's YOUR FAULT!" Tobias snapped, aiming to hit him, but Alpha Henry stopped him.

"Enough, Tobias. Go take a walk and cool down." he commanded.

Tobias stalked away, his footsteps echoing around them.

"Is that true?" Henry asked.

"What?" Clayton said, smoothing down his shirt.

Henry rolled his eyes. "That he told you at least one of you should be at home?" he asked.

"Yes..." Clayton said, sighing. "When he saw we both had watch at the same time he panicked, said one of us had to be there. I told him the girls could handle themselves." he said, shaking his head. "How wrong was I."

"Now, now. No need for that. This isn't your fault, we all thought the threat was directed at me, who could have guessed they'd take Kia." Henry said, slapping Clayton on the back.

"Tobias did." Clayton mumbled. "If she's at Blood Moon we need to get her, as soon as possible." he said, worry filling his eyes.

"I'll give Morris a call, ask if we can come over to discuss our pack treaty or whatever." Henry said, waving his hamd dismissively. "For now, go talk to your son-in-law, he needs you."

Clayton huffed but went in search of Tobias anyway. He felt guilty for not listening, for not being there to protect his baby girl. If anything happened to her, he knew he'd never forgive himself. He also knew, whoever hurt her was going to deeply regret ever laying a hand on her.

We'll find her, she'll be fine... He kept saying to himself as he looked for Tobias.
