I can't promise to solve all your problems but I can promise you won't have to face them alone.

A BIG BROTHER'S OATH

Destiny

Making a move for the exit, not wanting to spend another minute inside the room. Whistling, "Let's go, boy," I command Demon, my oldest companion---who begrudgingly hopped off the couch.

"Destiny, wait," Tyler calls after me, but my steps didn't flatter, at first.

I can't bear to see the look in his beautiful green eyes right now. He must think, I'm a monster.

"Tyler, please, don't. I... I... I just need to be alone with Demon right now. Don't bother following us," I declared.

"I'm sorry," I mumbled without even sparing him a glance as I walked through the front door with Demon in tow.

Taking off my sneakers, a few steps away from the house, I drag my shirt over my head, discarding it at my feet. Pulling down the sweatpants, I shrug out of it, tossing them alongside the shirt.

Only in my booty-shorts, and sports bra, I let loose my sloppy bun, freeing my hair."Είστε έτοιμος αγόρ [You ready boy]?" I questioned, causing Demon to nod since he understands my native tongue.

Sauntering across the lush and lowly trimmed lawn, digging my bare feet into the soft dirt. It kisses my toes, sending the vibrations of its true power into my body—feeding my primal side causing me to growl.

Pivoting a quick jog into a full-on run. The fresh and earthy aura, wraps itself around me, caressing my body at its will as I raced through the city.

I loved running like this back in Barbican. It's almost as if I'm flying.

Even though the air is my element, the connection to it feels deeper whenever I'm like this. It speaks to me. And right now, it's pushing me to go faster, resulting in me increasing my speed as my feet lift off the ground.

Glancing back at Demon, briefly. His tongue hangs out, flopping in the air along with his ears as he appears happy and free. I'm amazed at times just how much he can keep up with me.

------

Moments later after our run, I slowly jog towards the woods, squatting under an oak tree, whose energy has been reaching out to me. Demon follows, laying his head on my lap, exhausted, but happy.

Sighing, I slowly run my slender fingers through his soft and fluffy, brown fur. "What are we going to do boy?" I asked. "I... I just can't deal with this on my own," I finally confessed as Demon looks up at me and whines.

"You don't know either, huh. I guess we're stuck this time." I murmured into Demon's fur, kissing him on the head.

"I'll say, follow your gut baby girl," a familiar voice declared, startling the both of us causing Demon and me to growl in the direction the voice came from.

"Down guys, it's just me." German's voice laced with amusement declared, walking out from the shadows showing off his rugged bad boy look.

German's lean muscular body is covered in a black, leather jacket, faded jeans, combat boots, and a white undershirt as he crosses his arms and looks at us expectantly. How the hell did we not sense the jerk before? I wondered.

"It's that bad huh?" German stated. "You guys didn't even sense me and I've been here since you first arrived," he informs us, taking a seat next to us, stretching to rub Demon's stomach.

Instead of saying a word to German, I throw myself at him as he catches me, hugging me tightly in his comforting arms. Cooing as I cried my heart out to him, soaking his shirt in tears.

I've been sobbing for how long? I have no idea, but German still has me in his comforting grip. He may be an ass sometimes, but he's that brother I’ve always dreamed about.

"Hey, it's okay to cry," German says, stroking my hair. "Why don't you tell your brother what's up, yea?" He suggests, wiping away my tears.

Should I tell him? I pondered to myself, hating the idea that he'd see me differently.

After some internal battle, I strike up the courage and I tell him everything. Seeing Dante, flipping out, waking up afterward, showing my mark, talking about my mother's death, the promise I made her along with his alpha being my father.

It's a lot. Regardless, German listened to every word that sputtered out of my mouth. Comforting me whenever I broke down in explaining myself.

"So you're the one with the mark," German finally commented. "Not only that, but it has evolved into another mark that was last seen on Darren DeLuca, your supposed grandpa?" He asked and I nod my head, sniffling.

"You're also telling me you're a living and breathing hybrid," he recalls and I nod again as he sighs and holds me tighter against his chest.

He hasn't run yet... So that's good.

"You're not a full hybrid," German blurts out after a few minutes goes by, causing me to stare at him like he's crazy.

"Destiny. It's clear you wish you were only a witch, but you're not," German says in a chastising manner. "You're the daughter of a witch and a werewolf. An alpha, nonetheless. You gotta accept your bloodline from both roots of your parents, squirt," he declared, making perfect sense.

Tsk. How does he do that? No wonder he's a top warrior.

"My spiritual teacher has been trying to tell me that for years, including grandma Sara, yet here you are making perfect sense," I praised. "How come when you say it, things make much more sense," I ask confused as the asshole laughs.

"I'm an awesome big brother," German retorts smugly, with me wanting to punch him, but I ended up smiling instead.

"You do know accepting Dante doesn't necessarily mean you're betraying your promise to your mom." German declared as I gazed at him wide-eyed like a small child.

"Really," I whispered.

"Yeah," German replied. "It only means you're accepting the other misplaced part of yourself and your roots," he added.

Thinking about what German said, I guess it started to make a little sense."You think so?" I eventually ask.

"Think? Nope, I know so," German responded. "Besides, you don't have to do it alone. I'll be there if and when you need me. I'll always be there for you," he says truthfully.

"You promise?" I questioned.

German nods his head in agreement. "I swear. It's like a big brother's oath," he declared, earning a grin from me.

"I want to know him better so badly, but I... I... I'm not ready," I stuttered, playing with the zip of his jacket.

"Hey, no need to force anything alright," German reassured me, kissing the top of my head. "Besides, he's not a bad guy."

"I know, it's his mother who rubs me the wrong way entirely," I said in disdain that made him chuckle.

"The other day she caught me at the park, having the audacity to warn me away from her son. Raving on about she won't stand for another of my kind ruining her family's name. That bitch is lucky I was having a good day." I mumbled at the end.

"Of course kiddo," German replied, giving me a knowing glare as he stared down on me, still laying on his lap.

"Okay, so maybe I was too busy with my thoughts to care what she had to say at the time." I defend myself, shrugging.

Chuckling. "Come on. Let's get you guys home to shower, eat and rest," German says, getting up.

I'm more than grateful when he picks me up bridal style. I'm even more thankful when he begins to walk. God knows I'm drained as hell.

Reaching the Inn, I'm glad no one's here. Which made it easier for German to head up the stairs without questions with me still in his arms.

Opening my room door, only then did German place me on the floor. "Take a shower and I'll take care of Demon for you and make you something light to eat. Okay?" He says, already grabbing Demon's dog dish I keep in the room.

The promise of food has me nodding my head quickly as he chuckles before kissing my forehead and heading out before closing the bedroom door.

A long, hot, shower sounds so refreshing right now. Just the very thought tingles my inside as I practically skip to the adjoining room.

Getting out of the bathroom just in time to hear a knock. "Come in," I called over my shoulder, sauntering my way towards the closet.

Making quick work in drying and moisturizing myself before putting on a pair of boxers and a t-shirt belonging to Tyler. I see German waiting for me on my bed. Tossing and catching a football in his hand.

"Came to check if you were okay," German says and I nod. "Food's done," he added as we head downstairs.

Thanks to German. An hour later and I'm full and about ready to pass out.

Sprawled out quite comfortably in the middle, I almost fall asleep on the couch with my head swinging sideways. Luckily enough, German carries me to my room, tucking me in bed as if I'm a little kid. But I don't mind nor did I complain. I liked having someone caring for me like this again.

German's going to be a wonderful dad.

"Sweet dreams squirt, I love you." He mutters, kisses my forehead.

"Goodnight bro," I responded softly, making him smile.

Tired of resisting, I eventually give in to the sleep.

In the middle of the night, I guess, I'm not sure. But I thought I felt a light stroking on my cheeks along with a vague image of Dante when my eyes peeled open. But I'm too tired to keep my eyes open properly.

He kisses me softly on the cheek then softly whispers in my ear. "You're a beautiful creation, I love you. And I promise I'll work for your forgiveness, acceptance, and your love. I'm willing to work hard for it all."

After hearing him exiting my room, closing my door quietly, I fell back to sleep thinking it must be my imagination. Well... I think so since my mind tends to run a bit wild once my stomach is extremely full.
