Chapter 20: You’re back

Avery

It’s been 2 days since we took Ashe to the hospital and she is doing a lot better.

She met Lilly and Katie, and she is getting better with the doctor. She still isn’t good around guys yet.

“So who was the guy that barged in the room before?” Ashe asked me.

I looked up to see her looking at me intensely. “That was David. He’s the beta.”

“Okay. Then how come my wolf was like freaking out? She wouldn’t shut up.” She laughed.

I laughed with her. “What was she saying?”

“She was like ‘go to him. Go to him’.”

I looked at her and smiled. “Do you know about mates?”

Her eyes went wide. “He is my mate. Isn’t he?”

I nodded. “He is.”

She took a deep breathe. “Oh this is a lot.”

I laughed softly. “It’s gonna be okay. He’s a nice guy.”

“Tell me about him.” She said smiling.

“Well. He’s nice like a total sweetheart, he’s a big dork, he’s funny, he’s tough, uhh I think he’s 19.”

“He sounds nice.” She said happily.

I nodded. “He is. And you don’t have to be scared of him. He would never hurt you.”

“But what if he rejects me. The first time he saw me was when I’m in a hospital bed! I’m so pathetic. I can’t en protect myself.”

“Ashe!” I growled causing her to jump and look at me. “You are not pathetic. You are young and beautiful. The only reason you couldn’t fight back was because they was like 6 guys and you didn’t have your full strength yet.”

“Ya sure?” She asked unsurely.

“Yes. Of course I’m sure Ashe.”

“Okay.”

“Would you like to go meet him?” I asked her.

“I’m scared too.”

“I’ll be right here with you.”

We got up and everything ready as we left the pack hospital.

We moved our way over to the pack house and I opened the door.

“What if the other wolves don’t like me?” Ashe asked quietly.

“They have to to through me.” I smiled. But I was dead serious. They would have to go through me in order to get to Ashe.

The moment we stepped in, all head turned towards us.

Ashe whimpered and pressed herself into my side.

Not a second later, I heard footsteps booming as they ran down the stairs.

“Why do I smell a rogue?!” Jake’s voice boomed.

“Calm down. It’s just Ashe.” I said to him.

His eyes softened and he smiled. “Oh right. Sorry.”

I laughed and he gave me a hug.

“Where’s David?”

“Need me?” David asked chuckling as he popped around the corner.

“Ah!” I screamed in surprise and Jake jumped as well.

“What the hell man?! Warn a guy next time!” Jake laughed trying to calm down his racing heart.

He smiled sheepishly before his eyes snapped to Ashe.

He slowly walked up to her and stuffed his hands in him pocket.

“Hi.” He diss quietly as if he was scared to make her run off.

“Hi.” Ashe said looking down.

David smiled and held out his hand for her. “Do you uh wanna go for ummm a walk?”

I gasped. “Oh my. David is getting nervous. This is a first!” I said amazed.

This caused David’s face to turn bright red.

“Aww look at him Avery. He’s blushing. My big bad beta is blushing.” Jake squealed.

Ashe was laughing so hard, she was holding her stomach.

“Guys shut up.” David said looking down. “You are embarrassing me.”

“Aww. Poor David.” Liam chuckled joining in.

“Guys!” David whined.

“Okay okay.” I said patting his back. “Go on your walk with Ashe.”

He smiled and looked at Ashe. “Would you like too?”

She nodded. “I would love too.” She said taking his hand.

“Oh they grow up so fast.” I smiled.

“You guys are so weird.” David called out before he closed the door.

“That we are.” I said smiling like crazy.

“Wanna watch a movie?” Liam asked.

“Sure.” Jake said.

“Which one?” I asked.

“Some scary movie.” He said and took off too the living room.

We are gather in the living room with my head in Jake’s chest and Liam on the floor cuddled in a ball.

David and Ashe are still out and I’m glad. I think it’s awesome that they are mates. They look so cute together.

Some of the pack members are in here watching the movie with us and no one has said anything. Yeah, it’s that scary.

We are at the part where the girl heard the door bell ring and she gets up to go answer it.

When she answers it, the killer guy gets her.

Gosh these girls are so stupid. They should know not to answer the door.

I jumped and threw some of my popcorn when I heard a knock on our door.

I looked at everyone and they all looked back at me and Jake.

“I’m the girl. I’m not answering the door. What if it’s the killer or monster!” I screamed.

I heard Jake laugh and lift me up. “I’ll go get it.”

I walked to the door with him with my hand tightly holding onto his.

He opened the door and saw…Sadie?

“Ah!” I screamed and pointed at her. “It’s the monster!”

I heard the pack members snickering at my little joke. Liam told me how no one really likes her in this pack. She was the biggest bitch to everyone and she was the pack whore.

I screamed again and ran back into the living room. “Don’t look at her in the eyes! She might turn you to stone!” I dived under the blanket and onto Liam’s lap.

“Haha. Very funny. Luna.” Sadie said walking into the living room.

Birch. I thought to myself.

Liam paused the movie and looked up. “What are you doing here? I thought you left the pack.”

“No.” I heard her say. “I was just visiting some friends.”

“You have friends?” I asked standing up.

She made a face at me and I made back at her.

“Yes I have friends.” She defended.

“They must be getting paid.” I countered.

She stuck her tongue out at me. How mature… “No. They like me for me. My personality is amazing. So who wouldn’t want to be my friend.” She smirked.

I raised my hand and a couple other pack members did too while some tried to contain their laughter. “Us.” I smiled.

She scoffed. “Whatever. Your loss.”

“We aren’t really losing anything.”

She huffed and sat down on the couch. “Whatever.”

“Oh great. Now we have to burn that couch. It has Sadie slut germs on it.”

She gasped. “Jakey. You’re just gonna stand there and let her talk to me liked that?”

Jake looked at me and winked. “So who wants to help me get snacks from the kitten?” He asked.

Some of the guys laughed and went to the kitchen with him while me, Liam, Sadie, and everyone else stayed in the living room.

“Rejected!!” Liam screamed.

“You’re just jealous because Jake wants me.” Said pointed out.

I laughed and held onto my stomach. “You. Oh gosh. You honestly think Jake wants you?” I said in between laughs.

“Well duh.” She said like it the most obvious thing in the world.

“Listen and listen well.” I said sternly. “You touch him, you die. He’s my mate not yours. Now either leave out relationship alone, or get the hell out of this pack. I will kick your ass if you get in the way. Relationships are for 2 people, but it looks like some bitches can count properly.”

I heard a couple of ‘burns’ and ‘hell ya’ and ‘go Luna’.

Her fade turned a light shade of red out of anger. “He’s mine you little bitch. He always has been. And maybe you didn’t get the memo when I told you to not touch him.”

“Oh no no no no. You didn’t get the memo when I said to stay the hell away from him.” I felt that Red wanted to kick her ass and I was right there behind her.

“I’m gonna get him back.” She promised.

“He was never goes to begin with. So that was toto ally pointless.” I smirked in victory as I saw her face fall.

She replaced it with a sneer. “You are going down.”

“Bring it.” I challenged.
